Hello!
I just finished my fourth draft, so I'm looking for beta readers. It's about 75K words, and I'll gladly beta read in exchange!

Here's is my pitch:
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo meets Jennifer's Body in KILLING BOYS, a sapphic YA dark fantasy about a teen pop star who makes a faustian deal to kill her boyfriends in exchange for increasing fame. But when her latest boyfriend is murdered, she becomes suspect number one, so her best friend sets out to prove her innocence.

And here's the slightly longer blurb:
Teen pop star Bailey Holloway makes a Faustian deal to kill her boyfriends in exchange for increasing fame. That’s not the only sacrifice the spotlight requires of her. Her label forces her to hide her friendship with Freddie Pike because of rumors they’re secretly in love. But when Bailey is wrongfully accused of murdering her latest partner, she strikes a new deal—if Freddie can prove Bailey’s innocence, then the girls can be together for real.

Freddie agrees to Bailey’s deal because she’s never wanted anything more than for Bailey to love her back. However, Freddie’s new friend and potential love interest, Lynette, complicates matters with a question Freddie’s been too afraid to ask herself—is Bailey telling the truth about what happened the night Justin died?

It’s inspired by the local Kentucky folktale, the Witch Girl of Pilot's Knob.

Please let me know if you're interested in taking a look!

Thank you,
Kristen

Hi Kristen!

KILLING BOYS definitely caught my attention. The combination of sapphic YA, dark fantasy, pop-star fame, murder, and the Faustian deal sounds really interesting, and I love that it’s inspired by a Kentucky folktale too.

I’d definitely be interested in beta reading it! I’d be happy to give honest feedback on the story flow, pacing, character development, emotional impact, plot holes, and anything that feels confusing or could be stronger from a reader’s perspective.

I’d also be happy to beta read in exchange. If you’re still looking for readers, I’d love to take a look!

Best,
Davis

Would you love me to be part of the Beta readers?
