Dear future critique partner,

We are Marina and Vivien, two critique partners who are looking for new critique partners to create a supportive, uplifting group where everyone feels valued and understood.

This is what we are looking for in a critique partner:
someone who writes Romantasy or Romance
someone who is open to call / do group zoom meetings on a regular basis
(We both live in the CET time zone)
Another set of eyes on our stories to reveal any discrepancies
Honest and thoughtful opinions on the way the story unfolds
Someone to brainstorm ideas with
Cheering us on

And we can deliver the same! We already have experience!
Let us tell you a bit more us and the books we have poured our hearts into:

Marina’s book:
Unbound is the first novel in a romantasy series, blending slow-burn romance with hidden magic, political intrigue and the outbreak of war. Marina finished her first draft and is currently revising it:

When the looming threat of an attack on the capital becomes reality, Amara, Princess of the Kingdom of Ark and heir to the throne, is sent away to the distant stronghold of Halcyon for her safety. Kalahan Thorkien, a seasoned warrior and mysterious friend of King Zion, is assigned as her escort. Together, they travel throughout the kingdom—until a sudden attack exposes a hidden part of Amara’s identity, one even she was unaware of.

As secrets unravel and difficult truths emerge, she begins to question everything she thought she knew about her life—and herself.

Marina loves reading anything romantasy, her favorite tropes are: Slow burn, enemies to lovers and grumpy / sunshine. She loves a plot twist with a dash of emotional damage, and she is not deterred by heavy world building!

Vivien’s book:

Golden light is the first book in a three book New Adult Romantasy mixing hidden identity with forbidden magic, and found family. She already wrote 10 chapters:

Lumina has never seen another human. She grew up surrounded by magical creatures in the enchanted forest. For as long as she can remember, she wanted to find out where she came from. When she leaves the protection of the forest and the protection of the goddess who raised her, she discovers a world that is so different from everything she had ever known. A world that can be kind and cruel. After finding her family and making some new friends, she finds herself in a dangerous situation. And even her mental magic cannot save her from it. When an ancient threat arises again in a different form, Luminas rare magic might be the only thing able to stop it, if she learns how to expand it ……

Vivien loves reading Romantasy and Romance. Her favorite tropes are: hidden identity, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers and found family. She loves world-changing plot twist and devastating emotional damage and heavy world-building. Her story has more than 80 named characters!

Here are the trigger warnings (both books combined) :

bullying violence
 SA (off-page)
torture
death
explicit sexual content (with consent)
mention of suicide (happens in the past)

Those are a few books we love:

Throne of glass series
 Spark of the Everflame series
The legends of Thezmarr series
Lady of Darkness
Crescent City
Fourth Wing
and many more!

We are both committed to it in the hopes of being published one day. We don’t know yet if we want to self-publish or to get traditionally published.

Please send us an equally detailed introduction about you and your book if you want to be part of our writing group so we can see if we are a good fit!

Hello,
Are you still looking for critique partners? I'm a retired teacher and recently self-published my first slow-burn romantasy Spirit of the Sands on kdp. I'm currently working on the sequel titled Rise of the Sage.
In the first story, Layla and her brother Reyal become guardians of a magic lamp and its enigmatic djinn, Anu. Their journey to find safety and rid themselves of the lamp turns into a journey to save Anu.

Here is a rough blurb of book two:

What do you do when you've lost everything?

Layla's life is hidden in visions that show her a younger brother battling demons, a magic lamp and a bound djinn, and a troubled past that threatens a quiet life whose history is lost along with her memories.

Reyal isn't used to being alone, but now he wishes he were. Accompanied by a moody bird, and the dark spirits that haunt him, he must find a way to survive and find his past again.

And the djinn Anu has a new master, one who has no idea of the danger he faces.

An empire teeters on the brink of rebellion as Layla struggles to find her brother and Anu, before it's too late to save either one.

My time zone if EDT. If you are interested in seeing if we're a good fit, let me know!

Thank you,

Lori Weigler
