to Critique Partner Matchup
Hello all,

I recently finished revisions on my Victorian romantasy/portal fantasy novel, THE SIREN AND THE SERPENT, now complete at 88k words. Before I query, I would like to find a reliable beta reader who would take on the herculean task of reading it for me. I would be more than happy to read you work in exchange—I am comfortable with most genres. I am also open to long-time partnership as critique partners. I can look at chapters as you go, hype you up and offer suggestions; or you can send me a full draft, anything works. 😊

Here is the blurb:

"Erendell, the legendary land of magical flowers, belongs to the fairytales of her childhood—or so Sage Hawthorne believes. When her brother Anthony breaks his promise to take her to Europe, choosing a career away from home, Sage is certain things couldn't get any worse. While she seems content with the matchmaking and social intrigue of the English ton, her heart secretly longs for more than tea and drawing rooms. With Anthony gone, precious else will remain to fill her days.

But when mysterious figures in golden masks chase her and Anthony through a portal into Erendell, Sage realizes things can indeed get worse—especially when she and Anthony land at opposite ends of this magical land.

Instead of a realm brimming with magic, Sage finds a withering world. Magic is dying under the tyranny of the Silent Order, and strangers are unwelcome—Sage is no exception. Desperate to find Anthony and why the Order hunts them, she relies on a ragtag group of outcasts who seem too kind to be true. Lyran, their guarded leader, only complicates matters as his dangerous allure stirs feelings in Sage she's never known.

As they journey through deserts, evade mercenaries, and cross paths with pirates, Sage's only goal is to reunite with her brother and return home. But the more she becomes entangled in Erendell's politics and tragic history, the more deeply she cares for her companions—especially Lyran. Her distrust of him begins to melt, and soon it becomes impossible to ignore her growing connection to both him and the fate of the realm.

When she learns that Anthony might be the key to saving Erendell, Sage realizes her longed-for adventure has arrived. The fate of Erendell—and her heart—rests in her hands. If she fails, both may be lost forever."

Let me know if it's something that interests you and I can send you the first three chapters to sample. 😊

Have a wonderful weekend!
