CP(s) wanted for YA Mystery/Horror crossover fanfiction <50k words

To whom it may concern;

I am writing a crossover fanfiction with the characters from the anime and manga ‘Hetalia’, (like Polandball but with humans) by Hidekaz Himaruya, playing out the story of Aardman Animations’ movie ‘Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.’ You don’t have to have seen either of those things to sign up to this. This may be a fanfic that I cannot make money off of, and will only publish online on websites like Archive Of Our Own, Quotev, Wattpad and DeviantArt, but I take my stories very seriously! A first draft of the first chapter has already been posted on DeviantArt. You do not have to have seen ‘Hetalia’ or ‘Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit’ to read this, but it might be helpful.

I do not have an agent and am not published, just one story on DeviantArt (and a bunch of half-finished ones) and AO3 and a lot more in the works. Some day I dream of writing and publishing my own original material.

‘Hetalia: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit’ is less than 47,000 words at the moment and 12 chapters long and counting (likely no more than 20), so 47k/12=about 3,917 words per chapter. I have yet to complete a draft, but it has already been looked over by a few beta-readers who made editing suggestions. I have run into a few subplots and problems I am having difficulty solving, so some help and advice would be welcome.

Please note that I am writing this in Google Docs, so there is online evidence of me having pasted this story from DeviantArt Sta.sh in July 2016, where there is evidence of me having started writing this in 2014, in case anyone thinks they can steal my work.

The blurb so far;

Eccentric inventor Japan and star-crossed lovers Germany and Italy are Up the Ante-Pesto, or UTAP, a humane pest control trio that is currently busier than ever. The annual Giant Vegetable Competition is coming up, where the winner will get a gleaming Golden Carrot, and the bigger everyone's entries get, the more hungry rabbits UTAP have to deal with. Things get worse when they accidentally make an enemy of jealous Austria, who is in love with the beautiful competition host Hungary, and Germany mysteriously disappears along with Japan's voice. And if that wasn't bad enough, there are reports of a mysterious "Were-Rabbit" threatening the competition, which may be closer than everyone thinks…

I’m actually not exactly sure of the exact age range and genres for this story, YA, Mystery and Horror are my best guesses. The original Curse of the Were-Rabbit was described by its creators as a “vegetarian horror movie”, parodying the genre as well as monster movies.

I plan to rate it K+ or higher on FF.net and T or higher on AO3. I’d estimate that readers should be at least 13 due to sexual references, (but no actual sex scenes) among other things.

Two of the main characters are a gay couple, so don’t bother signing up if you’re homophobic.

Other things, including probable TRIGGER/CONTENT WARNINGS, that readers should probably be aware of;

  • Does transforming into an animal count as body horror? It is shown to be an uncomfortable and distressing experience.

  • Since present-day Germany is one of the characters, there are references to Nazism and the things they did, but Germany does not agree with his past self. It is clear that he deeply regrets his actions back then, to say the least. (Hetalia is an anime where countries of the world are humans)

  • There is one instance of the word "fa****s" by the antagonist, but I think I might delete it.

  • A character starts stammering out "f**k" but changes it to something else. There are profanities in foreign languages, however.

  • Fruit and vegetables get massacred by hungry rabbits. There is a high body count.

  • The use of guns as a plan to kill animals (and a human in an animal form)

  • A near-death experience.

  • Moderate threat, including indirect death threats to humans. One character’s plan would have him commit murder without realising it.

  • Some of the characters get very scared and upset by their situations. It is possible to find dark and serious undertones behind all the whimsical bizarreness.

Ships present in this fanfic; GerIta, past AusHun that has ended in divorce after World War 1, background Spamano and SuFin, hints of ItalyxHungary and JapanxHungary, and perhaps it could be interpreted as ItalyxJapan. I call the six main characters; UTAP, Austria, Hungary and a rabbit called Hutch who has developed the power of speech to a degree, and the mind of another character, the "Love Hexagon" because of their (not always romantic) relationships and dynamics.

I mainly enjoy fantasy and sci-fi, historical, or YA/NA stories with a modern, realistic setting. Authors I enjoy include George R.R. Martin, Sarah J. Maas, Jacqueline Wilson, Brian Jacques, Holly Bourne and Nancy Revell. The last book I read that I loved was probably A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas. A book that epitomises me as a reader? Man, that’s hard. Maybe Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne.

I’m willing to read and critique your work in return. By all means, we can try the first 50 pages of each others’ work and see if it works from there.

I look forward to working with you!

Thank you
