Hey! My name is Destiny. I have completed over 10 full manuscripts, between my own projects and working as a ghostwriter. I have also been a dedicated long-term critique partner for two other people. I'm looking to get some fresh eyes on my manuscript and hopefully gain another long-term critique partner. I'm looking for someone else with a completed manuscript in the fantasy genre, but I am open to YA/adult/High fantasy/Romantasy.
Plot:
Two heartbroken teenage faeries set out across the four seasonal courts to find a lost amulet. Willow is trying to save her unrequited lover and Reed is trying to save himself from a loveless marriage. They must face not only deadly obstacles and their greatest fears, but worst of all, themselves. At first, their opposing views on love keep them from connecting, Willow clings too tightly and Reed is scared to get close. But once they begin to find healing and comfort in being the “lover scorned”, a friendship blossoms, tainted by the taste of what true love might look like. The amulet will come at the cost of who they used to be. As hidden truths and powers are brought to the surface, they both must face the consequences of losing themselves in the name of love, while also realizing who they truly are and who they must become.
This story is for the people who have always given more than they receive in love. For people who cling too tightly, who stay and hope, who lose themselves in loving another. This story highlights the importance of loving yourself first, the uneven journey of healing, and surrounding yourself with people who truly care about you.
I have lots of experience with ‘save the cat plot’ structure as I also work as a professional plot outliner. I will be most helpful with Structural/Developmental/Scene and Character edits. Along with identifying strengths and weaknesses.
My feedback style is leaving a lot of comments within the actual manuscript and providing an overall thoughts document, along with answering any specific questions you may have. Because I spend a lot of time and really try to provide helpful feedback, I'm looking for someone to give my manuscript the same attention I give theirs. And really be invested in each other's stories and growth. I am also pretty quick with feedback.
I'm currently on draft three. Right now, I feel like everything's in the right spot structurally and I have moved on to develop the character arcs. So I'm looking for someone to provide overall feedback on the story and characters. Help me figure out what's working and not working and help me to better execute the story’s moral.
If you're interested, we can exchange the first few chapters and see if we would be a good fit! You can respond to me here, or email me at desti...@hotmail.com :)
