Hi all,

I'm looking for 2-3 CP partners to hopefully build long-term relationships with, cheerlead, and help each other reach our publishing goals. I'm open to anyone writing in YA or Adult Sci Fi, Fantasy or Romantasy.

Here's the blurb for my finished 97500 word MS:

When Talia Vox scaled the rusted signal tower, all she wanted was to get a few extra dollars on her family’s next energy incentive cheque and maybe a good selfie. She didn’t plan on drones trying to shoot her out of the sky or Avairus’s government branding her a terrorist. And in her worst nightmares, she never thought such a petty crime would cost her mother’s life.

Terrified to turn herself in and desperate to keep her and her brother safe, Talia goes on the run. But that’s a task easier said than done in a city that chips its citizens to track them, harvests their ambient energy, and records nearly every second of their lives. Her only hope is a neighbor's smuggler son, as attractive as he is untrustworthy. And while he gets her out of the city, it's not where she’s hoping to go.

Delivered into the hands of the Cipher resistance, Talia learns Avairus is developing a new chip to harvest the electrical spark produced by thoughts. It’s a vast, sustainable power source that could change the lives of millions, but rob them of mental privacy. Her mother stole information that could stop this encroachment.  Cipher needs Talia’s help finding it. But Avairus’s ruthless head of security is on her tail, and freedom for everyone may come at the cost of her own.

I have never been traditionally published, but I am trying to get my WIP to query-ready status. I'm not a great person for line edits, but I'm pretty good with story structure, necessary scenes, stakes etc.

Email me if you're interested in exchanging chapters!
Andrea

Hey Andrea,

Your novel about Talia sounds interesting. I'm a YA/NA Fantasy/Romantasy author. I've got a book I"m self-publishing this summer (NA Romantasy) and two WIPs (YA Fantasy and YA Sci-fi Fairy Tale Retellling). The WIPs are what I need a CP for. Especially the YA Fantasy which is my current focus. I'm up to about 35k words in it and expect it to hit around 100k when all is said and done, but who knows really until it's done. Here's the current blurb for the YA fantasy (it's not even a query letter yet, just a thrown together paragraph):

When sixteen year old Anyla Archer takes up the challenge to translate the ancient glyphs on the Tablets of Klarian, the last thing she expects is to go to the jungles where the tablets originated and accidentally wake a long-dead ancient queen. The gods will do anything to send the young queen back to the underworld to be forgotten once again, and they have no qualms about sending the meddling girl who summoned her along for the ride.

Let me know if you think we'd be a good fit.
