Hello! I’m a self-published female author looking for a critique partner for a Christian fantasy standalone for a YA audience. I’m looking for a new way to edit and refine my novels and stories, and I would love to help others as well! I would like this partnership to be more long-term, since I have many more ideas and projects (hopefully) yet to come.
This current book is about a missing princess who knows she’s the missing princess and struggles to keep her secret amidst a tumultuous time in the kingdom. The story is loosely inspired by The Legend of Zelda games (particularly Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom) and has a few fairy tale elements as well. There are a lot of POVs in this book, and Christianity plays an important role as well (with the Lord being represented as the Sovereign in this fantasy). The book is roughly 160,000 words and in the early stages of editing. The aim is to be as clean as possible, with some very light romance, a few mentions of blood, fighting, and death, and a few spirit/ghostly (but not ghost) characters.
My favorite recent book that I’ve read is Daican’s Heir by Jaye L. Knight, and I don’t think there’s a good book to describe me. I love historical fiction (like The Healer’s Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson) and fantasy (like The Door Within trilogy by Wayne Thomas Batson). I also enjoy some old classics (The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, or any of the original Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle).
I’m more than happy to answer what questions I can! (I would also prefer not to share my email right away, but I will provide a way to contact me as soon as I see that someone is interested!)
