Hello!  I am looking for a critique partner or a beta reader for my 55K contemporary scifi horror novel.  I am open to a swap!

My blurb:  Having lived a sheltered life with a domineering father and meek mother, Dolly is excited to finally discover herself when she starts her first day of college.  Her first day goes disastrously wrong, and a series of events forces her to work closely with Professor Franklin, a compassionless man with a dark past, to get things back on track.  With the help of new friends, Dolly learns what it means to grow up and away from her sheltered past, to fall in love, and to fight for herself.  Little does she know that she is soon to cross paths with a parasitic alien that has landed on earth and is hunting her classmates.

TW: SA, language, gore, body horror

Hi there!

We might be a good match for a critique swap, if you're interested in my manuscript.

I read sci fi and some body horror (mostly Chuck Palahniuk).

My manuscript is also 55K. It's a cosy mystery in an ambiguous setting - elements of dystopian sci fi, elements of fantasy (No dragons or magicians, just a river that behaves a bit weird). It has parasitic relationships as a central theme.

First time using this site so I don't know what the procedure is. If you want to swap a chapter to look over before we make our minds up I'm down.

Cheers,

Cara
