Am close to finishing first draft of a 6,000 word short story that will anchor a book of short stories and flash fiction, for self publication. I realise its niche so therefore starting my search for a critique partner early.
I believe its good taste, and while it does contain graphic scenes and explicit description, it doesn't have anything offensive or dark.
Plot: (don't laugh) A Parisian art student in her twenties is given the chance to model for a famous, aging, blind sculptor. But of course, he'll need to replace sight with touch, to replicate her in clay. (I realise that theme has probably been explored before. but hasn't everything?)
I could be wrong, but I think this story will appeal to women more than men. Our MC is respected and not exploited. She's not there as an object. Its her journey.
I'll read anything of similar length in return, and provide decent critique. I'm not great with high brow literature or poetry.
