Annual Chicago "Loving Day" Party
What: 6th Annual Chicago "Loving Day" Party
When: June 10, 2011 5:00-9:00PM
Where: Park 52 Restaurant/lounge 5201 S. Harper Chicago, Il
Celebrate the 44th anniversary of the 'Loving v. the State of
Virginia' Supreme Court decision to legalize interracial marriage
nationwide! Until June 12, 1967 there were many states in America
where it was ILLEGAL to marry someone outside your race. The parents
of President Barack Obama, as well as many of our own parents, could
have been arrested and imprisoned for marrying prior to that day. The
repeal of these laws was a very important step in the civil rights
movement. Come join the Biracial & Friends Social Group and the
Biracial Family Network in recognizing the progress that has been
made, and appreciating diversity and our freedom to love whomever we
choose, regardless of color. All are welcome! (21 & over, please.
Celebration is in the side bar area)
We will be hosting a FREE after-work party from 5p-9p at Park 52
Restaurant/Lounge 5201 S. Harper Chicago, Il in the historically
diverse Hyde Park area. This trendy restaurant features upscale

Loving Day when making your dinner reservation. Children are allowed

the bar. Dress is casual chic. There is a metered parking lot and
limited street parking. Stay later for DJ and dancing, hope to see you
there! Robin T., Michelle H., Scott S. Arnold T.
