The following message from Coun. Jenny Gerbasi was forwarded to me:

Dear Friends,

Please share this information with any interested Critical Mass
Cyclists or other concerned citizens who wish to participate in
ensuring safe and peaceful rides in the future.

As an outcome of the meeting between Councillor Benham, myself the
Chief Ewatski and the CAO Annitta Stenning, the Winnipeg Police
Service have set up this meeting for Friday June 16th at 2:00 pm.
(see the letter below from the WPS)

If you wish to attend please contact Sgt Frank May at 986 7386 or
fm...@winnipeg.ca. Feel free to pass this email on.

Regards,

Jenny Gerbasi
Councillor, Fort Rouge East Fort Garry

06-06-06

To Whom It May Concern:

The Winnipeg Police Service is proposing to meet with members of
Critical Mass and concerned citizens in an effort to negotiate the
groundwork for a peaceful ride on June 30th 2006 and rides there after.

The writer is proposing an ?in camera? meeting at an ?off site?
where we can hold an open discussion on future rides outlining the
needs and concerns of both the participants of the ride and the
Winnipeg Police Service.

The previous events are the motivating factors for this negotiation but
will not be the topic of discussion due to the pending legal matters.

I have arranged for a conference room at City Hall for a meeting on
06-06-16- at 2pm.

I can be reached at 986-7386 or email at fm...@winnipeg.ca.

Regards,

Frank May

Some speculation has arisen that WPS wish to minimize disruptions
during the next Critical Mass ride because _it happens to fall on the
Friday before a long weekend_!
