Hello
My name is Aurelia, I'm critical care nurse and academic teacher. I have a question about GRVs. What should we do if we have less than 500 ml GRVs. Should we return to the patient or throw away? I would be greatfull for help:)

Hello Aurelia,
We have a protocol which includes a directive for GRVs: If the GRV are over 500 ml, reinject 300 ml in the enteral feeding tube and discard the remainder.
Hope this helps
