Please keep it for now! It's minimalist but the key informational
links on the left are much more prominent now than they were
previously and that's the key thing. @melgorka and I will be working
on a more complete version shortly so we should be able to get
another iteration up next week.
All,
I made a few changes to
CrisisCommons.org as you will
probably see when you go over there...
Basically the entire site as it was (with the blog on the
front page) can be restored in a matter of minutes if that's
what you all want me to do.
The idea here was to provide a bridge from a place that
nobody really liked to a more sustainable design that meets all
of our needs. That said, with a relatively big weekend coming
up, I felt that we needed to get something up that was a bit
more presentable. The one thing that I couldn't quite get to
work was getting the logo in there at the top - I'll try again
in the morning.
Also, I made an admin change - basically what was happening
was that new users that were trying to log into the website to
do posts were being sent to a kind of purgatory called
dashboard.crisiscommons.org
which wasn't actually anything - I moved all of the users out of
that and into the main site and gave everyone at least Author
status so that they should be able to do blog posts. However, if
someone registered as one of the camp sites (i.e.
london.crisiscommons.org)
then they are not necessarily able to log into the main site.
Anyway, as I said, if everyone hates the new (again,
temporary) design, I can reverse everything in about 10 minutes
or so.
