Hello all,

during Heather's and Whitney's visit in Brussels last month, we
discussed the idea of founding a European branch of the CrisisCommons
organization.

As a result of this meeting, I reserved the domain crisiscommons.eu in
order to protect it from domain grabbers. It currently points to
crisiscommons.org.

Personally, I don't have the intention to use the domain and I
reserved it to give it to anyone that is seriously willing to organize
this project.

So don't hesitate to contact me, if you want to make use of the
domain. All I ask for, is to get the green light from the head
CrisisCommons team to be sure that the EU project is in line with the
global movement's ideas. So before the transfer, I invite you to
discuss your project with the HQ.

Best wishes,
Tasha

Tasha,

So great to hear from you!! We would love your input and collaboration on some impending infrastructure work.

We are seriously looking to stand up a crisiscamp.org soon, to allow for some sub-camp identity for the crisiscamp regional ie city, country, continent (smile) etc, to work around the requirements of distributed crisiscamp city or regional identity.

We are also looking for the Governance working group (also an open working group) to define clearer distinction between use of "crisiscommons" and "crisiscamp" terms and usage that will provide guidelines in this too (and help us with things like what to do with .eu), and help from the Communications group on some of the "branding/messaging and requirements, and alignment to things like social media strategies (for communication). And finally the Community working group for some content for CrisisCamp in a box, etc. This is also supposed to be a site for collaboration and management too at city level. Looking to integrate with meetup, some maps, etc.

We have had to redirected on some infrastructure hosting issues, but think we can get these things sorted out soon and stand up a crisiscamp.org skeleton where folks can work on these design, content creation, integrate, deploy cycles. I've started to pull together some various emails and conversations on this that have started to consolidate to a more public forum of this working group (although much is already in alignment with what is outlined on the wiki for CCIWG, just more detail). When avail, I'll post here and schedule a CCIWG call for interested folks to discuss how to go forward, say in the next week, and who wants to do what. Would love your help on some of this if you have the time (and others on this list).

Thanks!!
