Sorry if I wasnt clear. We are doing this with normal digital cameras
and kites and balloons. This has nothing to do with the mobile app
really.

Absolutely they will be geocoded and timestamped. We intend to collect
time series of images over the next weeks/months and and these will be
distributed as tiles that can be added as overlays or base maps to
other web map apps that are based on google maps or openlayers or the
like.

They are out shooting today, but mostly training local students to do
the work, we have sent down 10 canons with the chdk, but it is totally
conceivable to do the shooting with mobile phones using an
intevalometer app.
