Greetings,

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the camps:

THIS WEEKEND - CrisisCamp Philadelphia is on! It will be held at
Temple University and the focus is the use of technology to assist
persons with special needs. To register click here:
http://crisiscampphilly09.eventbrite.com/

CrisisCampWest (NoCal): This event is stalled and will not be in
November. We are looking to connect people who want to meet up for an
organizational meeting around the Random Hacks of Kindness. If you are
interested, please email crisiscommons (at) gmail.com. There is a lot
of interest in this event, but a core group of folks need to be
established to move this from idea to barcamp.

November 12-14 - Random Hacks of Kindness
It is an initiative that brings together disaster relief experts and
software engineers to work on identifying key challenges to disaster
relief, and developing solutions to these critical issues. This
Codejam is the first of a series of Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK)
events that will bring the best and brightest together for a "give
camp" to solve real world-problems related to Crisis/Disaster Relief.

To check out some of the ideas for exploration at this codejam click

You can register to participate here - http://randomhacksofkindness.eventbrite.com/
For the non-tech folks (people who aren't coding) we will be working
to create concepts and a framework for the establishment of a
CrisisCommon.

CrisisCampNYC - This is looking to take shape, but not for the
original date of November 6th - it will likely be in the new year. To
help CCNYC click to http://crisiscampnyc.ning.com/

CrisisCampUK - This barcamp is looking to take shape in the new year.
There are many folks who are interested in creating this camp as well.
Happy to connect you with folks in the UK - email us at crisiscommons
(at) gmail.com

That's it for now! We hope to see you on the West Coast in November.
As always - we could sure use some help on any of the camps who are
trying to form and of course look forward to new camps :)

Best,
Heather
