Please join us on this coming weekend for a Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK) event sponsored by CrisisCamp Boston in Cambridge, MA!
Hacking for Humanity
Throughout the weekend, we will be coding to make the world a better place. RHoK has been working with subject matter experts around the world to develop problem statements addressing global challenges. These problem statements will be the hacking challenges thrown out to the developers at the RHoK event. See those statements as they develop at www.rhok.org.
At the end of the weekend, we'll invite you to share your RHoK application with the group with the potential to win prizes and see your work put to use on the ground to save lives and alleviate suffering.
What to Expect
You bring: Your laptop, your skills, your enthusiasm, and your ideas!!
We will provide:
* A selection of humanitarian projects to work on (if you don't already have one)
* Project mentors on hand to present project ideas and help you refine yours.
* Power, WIFI and caffeine
* Food: lunch and dinner on Saturday; breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
On Saturday morning, we will present some project ideas and let you pitch yours. We'll work through the day on Saturday, take a break overnight, and come back to work on Sunday morning. On Sunday afternoon, you'll present your work to our panel of judges, and we'll award prizes to the projects with the best combination of inspiration and execution. Though we'll only have two days to work at the event, we can help you get set up to continue working on your project in the future (including at future RHoK events).
