Cool! how we use this in the context of workflow; perhaps in a
dedicated panel of Drupal?

Hi,

We wrote this Drupal module using the GTranslate PHP wrapper for
Google Translate API to automatically translate nodes. Might be of
use. As long as the INI file for GTranslate matches the Drupal
language code it would work. You'd probably need to create a custom
language in Drupal:

This sounds good.
If a person within the workflow (like the Organizer) whose role is to read the incoming (emergency) messages, classify them (medical, security, etc.) and push them forward through the workflow, gets a message in Haitian Creole, then it can be automatically converted to English and presented to him. The translation, though not perfect, will provide him enough keywords to classify it and then assign it forward to a person who knows Creole.

To automate this further, we know that Google Translate API also "detects" the language. Hence the program can detect the language of the incoming message, and automatically route/assign it to the volunteers who know that language ('languages' will be a field in the user's record which he enters during registration).
