Apologies to the original folks for making this transition, but the
RSS feed aggregator group are exploring a vast wunderworld, that
includes things like www.crimsonhexagon.com, etc, and Drupal-centric
workflow is quite foreign to them. So, logically we are higher on the
food chain. :-)
And again, as Larry has heard me say: "pacing is everything". We
can't burn out. But talking to some folks from WFP and UNHCR is enough
to motivate anyone. They are TOTALLY maxed out. "...we're racing to
feed 1/2 million starving people 1/2 across the planet; a lot of whom
are illiterate and have guns and machetes...."
That said, short-term, really need to just bolt up Larry's Flex widget
and get that going. We will get HUGE attention just for that. Will be
seeking Drupal devs to do it.
Another very interesting development, that Larry will also appreciate,
is that Pictometry (www.pictometry.com) just flew the whole area; it
must be viewed within their custom viewer, but a LOT of interest from
corporate in this project. But still, this is more info about a piece
of work: a broken building, bridge, etc.
A LOT of interest, but disbelief it can be done. Need to get a
reality check on how hard it is to:
stand up one of these: http://www.kaltura.org/project/community_edition_video_platform
and use the Drupal API: http://corp.kaltura.com/wiki/index.php/Kaltura-drupal-module
to launch the advanced editor: http://www.kaltura.org/project/Advanced_Timeline_Based_Video_Editor.
And chop out scenes of individuals for transcription.
will talk a little time to recapture all the stuff from the RSS group
over here; but coming.
Thank you for participating - I sincerely want to project to thrive
and make a HUGE impact in Haiti, and well beyond...
Chris
