Machine translation update, i'm processing our data, it's taking a *looong time*

in the mean time, i'm contacting a number of commercial web hosts to
see if i can get a good deal (free?) for the MT effort.

i had a lot of offers to get hosting, but i'd like to be a little more
in control of the effort (esp after seeing what my team in toronto is
doing - it's like they are trying to fork my project?!?!?!)

Er...they mentioned on the call this evening that Amazon is offering up EC2
instances...

Not sure if that's a possibility for your app or not.

Where do we learn more about the EC2 instances offered? I know that
the CCRSSA group has a few uses for this. Currently we are using our
own servers for testing.

Have you tried.. Lunarpages.com.  They might do a pro bono host.  Also FPweb.net might do that as well.  I use lunar personally and we use fpweb hosting for our sharepoint.  They might also be willing to host.   What are some of your needs.  I might be able to work a couple larger hosting contacts we have up here in seattle for you.
