HI everyone, just an update on CCRSSA:

Mark Sullivan will be joining us tomorrow to help with this project. Mark can edit the form for the feed aggregator. He has been involved for some time and knows the history. Heather B. is contacting Andrew T to get Mark the server creds for the AWS.

Saturday plan (REVISED):

IRC channel is ccrssa there is a phone bridge on the wiki. we will open that too.

1. TECH/DEV work: Andrew T (washington) works with Mark (Kansas City) to get server credits. Deborah from Chicago has someone who is going to use his server brains to install and test. Deborah's server jockey (person) will be available after 11CST? Mark will be online at 10:30 CST.  Any other city that has a server /web dev/ ux person that wants to help on this, please talk with Mark.

2. FIRST call:  Boston and Toronto at 10:30 ET
Heather L and Monika coordinate all the ORG help. Teams will 1. assess the current form. 2. assess all the content on the RSS wiki page about categories.  I suggest dividing it into 3 parts depending on the volunteers available.  We could have folks reviewing RSS feeds for research too. This is if we end up over run with volunteers in one of the cities. : ) It is a nice to have.  Deborah is giving us a project manager to take over once her city is up and running.

3. SECOND CALL: Boston, Chicago and Toronto NOON ET
Teams will review the form and start working with etherpad to build the next version.  They will together dump all the necessary content and start collaborating

4. NEXT stage: Team delivered finalized next iteration of form to Mark to be revised and implemented.

5. Day and wrap: Team reviews and tests.

6. END OF Day: Someone (project manager from Chicago) creates a full summary and maybe a presentation of the work completed.

There has been a ton of analysis on the categories etc. Now it is a matter of determining what gets delivered in this round and what can wait for the next version.

Looking forward to working with all of you,

Heather

Heather Leson,

Call me Friday afternoon.  I’m in CST.  I’d be glad to help push this forward but we need to get some basics agreed to.  I can be reached at 816.668.8032 anytime after 2pm CST.

We need some hosting space on EC2 (I think).  Can anyone tell me how to get access to that.  I think we want to stand up some servers to run some RSS aggregators (Gregarious).

Thanks all!

Subject: Re: [CCRSSA] 7PM EST Project Call - Need rep from RSS Folks

Help please,

Monika (Boston), Deb (Chicago) and myself (TOheather) have been tasked to divide up and complete the 1st main iteration of the CCRSSA project for this weekend.  This project has been on the project backlog for some time. I think we can divide it up into STAGE 1 delivery and STAGE 2 delivery. The goal is to deliver STAGE 1 this weekend.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that the CCRSSA delivery is fairly close.
(NOTE: this is not at all the UN Spider project. We need to keep on track)

Chris Penn: are you available to guide us or lead us? I know that Roger is unavailable. (*waves*). Anyone else? Pascal?
Mark: can you please help us on Saturday and/or get us access/teach on how to edit the existing form?

We really need some help from the current team to either work with us on Saturday or give us a warm hand-off. I am willing to take phone calls to get this info in advance if you are unable to attend on Saturday.

SATURDAY PLAN:

CALL TIME: Saturday, February 13, 2010 11:00 ET On the CCRSSA conference bridge

NEED: One LEAD project manager from either current CRSSA team and/or from one of the cities to guide the action plan  (To be confirmed by 8pm Friday, February 12, 2010. Next all city conference call)

TASKS for Saturday:

1. Review the complete CRSSA wiki pages.  ALL cities before the call.

2. Make a list of:   MUST have (STAGE 1),  NICE to have (STAGE 2) (hopefully this equates = able to deliver part of it)  We might do this crowdsourced on a group call.

3. Divide each city teams into the following parts:

a. DEV:  back-end develop team: help to work with Chris /Mark or whomever can help us with the code (if required)
b. ORG:input team: build next iteration of RSS form, integrate current feedback from wiki, work with form created by Mark.
c. EXTRA RESEARCH: General team: rss feed checking and verifying

I hope that I am not overstepping by writing this email. All of us want to see it live and do its magic.

Is this a realistic plan of action? Any information will make it all shiny and moving forward.

Thanks,

Heather (TOheather)
