Does this rings bells with anybody? Especially the London IT4D
crowd?
I'm looking for a drupal guru who would be happy to give some advice
on a Knowledge Management site for relief workers, I need the advice
to put together a work plan for the next month and a budget for a
grant proposal, so there is an opportunity to get some (potentially
high-profile) paid work out of it. Initial advice would be on an
informal basis though (I'd shout you a beer) - anyone who could meet
up/have a call before Tuesday should read on!
I'm working with a charity called RedR-UK (
www.redr.org.uk),
we are currently designing a knowledge management website for
the Global WaSH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Cluster. The
cluster are a group of humanitarian charities who work to
provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene to people affected by
disasters. The group is led by UNICEF, the UN childrens'
charity and includes agencies such as CARE international, Oxfam,
Save the Children and many others.
The knowledge management project has been started to improve
the way knowledge is processed and shared between agencies, in
order to improve the way we respond to disasters.
The first stage of the project would be to editing an
existing drupal site designed for the humanitarian sector,
making some quick-and-dirty improvements and rolling it out for
beta testing. As a background the draft website is here:
http://www.washcluster.info/drupal/
This site was built by an external developer, under the
guidance of UNICEF, but there are a number of improvements that
we've identified before we roll out the site into beta for
testing. I'd really appreciate the chance to chat through those
changes with someone who understands the drupal platform so we
have a good idea of what is achievable, how long it will take,
and how much it will cost so we can put this into a grant
proposal.
If this is something you'd be willing to help with, let me
know and I'll get back to you with some more information - I'd
very much appreciate your advice however I'm afraid I can't
guarantee at this stage that this input would mean getting the
contract to carry out the development once the project goes
ahead.
Many thanks
James
