Thanks Dillion, That just made me realize that I just got a new computer a few months ago and I had to install artcam from my disc and I didn't do any of the updates. I think that is the problem. I have to say for a company and someone that don't support the older versions you did a heck of a job. I'm sure this will fix the problem. Do you guys have a newer version of artcam that is not subscription based. I'm not a fan of the subscriptions. Don't seem to own anything when done. like a lease. I have mastercam and just pay a maintenance fee every year for support and new versions. Got a name of retailer for artcam? Someone other than Shopbot. Thanks again and if we ever meet I'll buy you lunch.

This is an interesting thread as I have recently acquired a cnc machine with artcam 2008 software too, but cannot find any details online as to how to get hold of a manual or basic information. Does anyone have any tips?
I am trying to work out the process as to how to take an image and straighten the vectors etc and basically make it ready. This is coming from someone who has no prior knowledge of cnc machines or artcam software.
I've been searching for a while for a way to buy a legitimate copy of artcam 2008 but to no avail.
I realise that artcam has now become the new carveco, but I doubt they'd be able to help with a version that is so old. I am adamant on finding this version because it is what I used in my training and subsequent work, meaning I am now very familiar with the workflow and all the software's "quirks". Unfortunately, I am not currently ready for the jump carveco, at least given the very steep pricing for their premium offering, disregarding the fact that the software has changed a lot.
