Hi all,

When running a simulation I now get the warning that my flowsolver has expired the 30th of april. However, I installed this version in November, it should be working for 1 year right?
Is there a way I can fix this?

Thanks!

Kind regards, Maartje

Hi Maartje,

The flowsolver and the GUI are two different packages - the GUI runs for one year from when you install it; the flowsolver has a fixed expiry date.

You can download a new copy of the flowsolver - I'll send you a download link.

Best,
Chris

Hi there,

I too am trying to install the new flow solver. I have been trying to run a simple simulation and I believe the expired solver is may be the cause of failed simulations. Where can a download link be found?

Thank you,
Jennifer

Dear Jennifer,

The flowsolver currently uses a different expiration date from the main flowsolver. We will look at synchronising these in future.

If you need a new flowsolver, then please use the form on the website to request a new download link; it is available on that page: http://www.crimson.software/downloads.html

Let me know if that all goes smoothly for you.

Best wishes,
Chris

Hi all,

This email is just to forward the below off-list discussion on a problem running the flowsolver, so that it's available to everyone.

Best,
Chris

Hi Jennifer,

Requests like this should go to the mailing list, really, so that if someone else runs into the same problem, they can find the solution with Google. Would you mind if I forward it there?

I'm not sure what's happening, but it is not that there's a problem with the flowsolver. From your screenshots, my best guess is that it's not coping well with the folder names you're using. I see that there's a . in the folder name, and also spaces (5.2020 flow sim...). Could you try again using different folder names for your simulation? In general, it's best practice to use no spaces, and no punctuation in folder names. Things like underscore and dash are generally ok.

Best,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I downloaded the new flow solver, but am getting some errors as I am trying to do a simple cylinder simulation. Instead of importing an .stl file (I am still working on learning this part) I used a DICOM file to start, but instead of tracing vessels, I just generated a simple "vessel" using two path points. I used BC and solver parameters similar to the tutorial as I am just trying to learn to navigate the software before I attempt more complicated geometry and simulations. I was hoping that you could assist me in troubleshooting. I will attach some screen shots from the command prompt. I greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks so much,
Jennifer

Hi Chris,

Thank you. I have submitted the form for a new download link to be sent to a different email address (school vs. personal).

Thanks again,
Jennifer
