Hello,

I am starting to use Crimson. The loading of the DICOM files is extremely long (10 min for a 512 x 512 CT with 300 slices). When loading, the console displays this message:

Capture.PNG

I tried with several images and always the same message and always very long.

Moreover (unless I'm mistaken), I saw that the last update of Crimson was in December 2020. Is the project still supported? Are new features being developed?

Thanks in advance for your answers

Hi fdekerme,

I've seen this sort of thing a few times before, and it's usually because there's something wrong with the DICOM file (there seems to be a lot of variability in how manufacturers create these files). Are you able to load other/smaller DICOMs from a different scanner/source?

Judging by the error message, it's also possible that there's some hard disk permission problem - I'd also try running with the dicom data in a folder that you definitely have permissions to use (and possibly one with a much shorter name than the one shown here... it could be a path buffer overflow somewhere).

In answer to your second question, the open source version of CRIMSON is maintained, but based upon people having availability to contribute to it.

Best,
Chris

Thanks for the answer!
Unfortunately, I tried with many DICOM files and I have the same problem every time.

Ok for the Crimson support, I was wondering.
