Butit seems the PCB part is also size and layer restricted? This feels very odd as no such arbitrary restrictions exists in the Rest of Fusion 360. Is this a bug from the Eagle to Fusion transition or is this intentional and that restriction is just missing from that page?

It would be rather disappointing though if Fusion would start making such restrictions to the personal use version. I think it would be hard for Fusion to convince people to use it vs. alternative like KiCad or CircuitMaker.

I always felt that Fusion understood that people often start as hobbyists or students before they grow into commercial use and reflected this in their licensing.

The limits are a maximum of 2 pages for a schematic and in the PCB a maximum number of 2 layers (Top and Bottom) and a limited board area of 8000 mm^2 (half a Euro card board).

This equals the same limits as it is in the EAGLE Free edition.

I'm getting into 3d printing as a hobby, and I've downloaded Fusion 360 free trial (hopefully I can get a student licence as I'm still enrolled with the Open University, although that has to go through verification). Otherwise I'll be stuck with the limited hobbyist licence - which for modelling purposes doesn't seem to affect what I want to do...

However, I've noticed that the software also has PCB/electronics design! This was unexpected, and electronics is something I've been tinkering around with for some time now and having software to design with is something I will definitely be using. My question is, at the risk of bumping an old topic, how limiting is the hobbyist licence? It has been 2 years almost since the original poster asked this question, so I wanted to ask what people's thoughts are now that they've (presumably) had plenty of time to play around and use the limited features.

Is the 2 layers and limited surface area enough for hobbyist purpose? Have the limitations affected your project(s) and how did you get around this (if you even did). What are the (free) alternatives?

I am trying to generate gcode from Fusion with guffys post processor. For some reasons Z feedrate in gcode seems to be the same than with X and Y, in my case 720mm/min (cutting rate from fusion feed&speed) . So neither the Travel Speed Z option in post processor nor max Z feedrate in Machine Kinematics in Fusion are working. They both are set below 400mm/min. This is my first time trying to create gcode straight from Fusion so I cant tell if this is something to do with the newest Fusion update or what. Plunge speed limit seems to be working but it only limits plunge moves. Anybody having the same issue? Or is this even anything to be concerned about?

Hi Guys, I am trying to import these post processors in Fusion 360 and it is telling me that it is invalid.

I have the personal license and I am facing issues with the gcode generated by fusion. I think it is related to the arc movements and that kind of stuff.

I have to leave, so I cannot give you issue much thought, but if it happens with just the Arduino, one approach would be to cut out G0/G1 in the .gcode file to see if you can isolate a particular part of the file that is causing the problems and see if there is any unusual g-codes. Maybe bit change gcode is being inserted?

Autodesk Fusion 360 is a cloud-based 3D modeling, CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software platform for product design and manufacturing. It allows you to design and engineer products in a way that ensures aesthetics, form, fit, function and also provides comprehensive electronics and PCB design tools to engineer, design, and create anything while saving time and money.

In simple terms, it's great software you can use to 3D model custom parts you cannot buy 'off the shelf' for your race car, hotrod, track car, jet boat, motorbike or whatever it is you are working on, by using skills like those taught in the 3D Modeling & CAD for Motorsport course.

The personal-use license is free and valid for three years, after which you can request a renewal. To qualify for the personal-use license, users must generate less than USD 1,000 in annual revenue and use the software for home-based, non-commercial projects only. There are some limitations to this version of the software but for 3D modelling purposes, in our opinion, it is feature rich compared to other popular free options and the limitations are not 'project breaking' We highly recommend anyone new to CAD starts with this license.

Branching out on your own? You also have the option to apply for the Fusion 360 for Startups program, which provides eligible startups with a free, one-year license for Fusion 360. This removes any limitations imposed on the personal use version.

To apply, you will need to go to the Fusion 360 for Startups home page here and fill out an application form. Once your application is received, you will receive an email with your application status and instructions on how to proceed if accepted.

This can be an excellent way to ease your way towards a full license if you have built up your skills and do decide to offer your services at a commercial level, and as you would expect, there are some catches.

Your startup (or business using pre-2010 English) must be under 3 years old, have 10 or fewer employees and generate an annual gross revenue below US$100,000. You must design or manufacture original physical products and be willing to share your business story (note, that doesn't mean your IP!) with a valid website, transact on social media or a digital platform.

Another option is to download a free 30-day trial of Fusion 360 from the Autodesk website. This trial will give you access to the software's integrated CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB tools. You can also request a demo or talk to an expert for more information.

This is very much a feature to let you evaluate if you want to sign on for the paid version. So why is it here? Every day we see posts from people confusing this trial offer with the free personal license version so it is mentioned here to ensure the point of difference between the trial and personal use license versions is known.

That said, if you are at the end of your 3-year personal use license and are looking at perhaps starting to do some commercial work with Fusion 360, then this is something you should consider looking at. You can find it here. If not, then just renew your personal license.

With a few different ways to obtain Fusion 360 for free, including a free 30-day trial, a free 3-year personal usage license, and a free 1-year business/startup license it seems like a no-brainer to dive on in and use this tool to start building your 3D modeling skills today. If you are new to CAD or are self-taught and have hit some stumbling blocks, the 3D Modeling & CAD for Motorsport course might be the perfect accompanying tool to help you take things to the next level, setting you up with what we consider must-have fundamental know for what comes beyond that in the future too as your projects become more and more advanced.

After losing weight and hitting a plateau, I was looking for a way to step it up, keep me moving and to keep improving my body. I was interested in strength training, which was foreign to me, and I was worried about hurting myself without the proper guidance.

I started researching gyms and personal trainers and ended up deciding on making contact with Fitness Fusion and I sent off an email. Brian Lepine got in touch with me within 24 hours.

With his assistance and guidance I have noticed improvements with my body. I lost more weight, took inches off, gained muscle and received the knowledge to safely work with weights without injuring myself.

About 4 years ago, we made a decision to invest in ourselves and start to get healthier. To start the process, we joined Fitness Fusion and we couldn't be happier with the results. During that time we've achieved personal goals that we never thought possible.

The trainers at Fitness Fusion, Brian and Marlene, are knowledgeable, motivational and continuously challenge us and the rest of the Fitness Fusion community to push our personal boundaries to new heights all while tailoring workouts and exercises to meet individual's needs and limitations.

Workouts are tough but our trainers always strive to pack them full of variety and make them fun as well. We've seen some amazing results not only for ourselves but for many other members of the Fitness Fusion community. Yes, we look at Fitness Fusion as a community, members supporting members, not as a gym. Over the years, we've enjoyed witnessing many members become leaner, more toned and much healthier than when they walked in the door. You can't help but be motivated by their success.

We are two of Brian's older clients, in our 60's, and our goal is to maintain strength, flexibility and balance as we age. Strength training was a priority for us and Brian has done a remarkable job at getting us to lift with the proper technique to avoid injury while progressively increasing our lifting capacity. He has done this using a structured training program combined with ongoing nutritional coaching. We both feel amazing and enjoy great health. In our eyes, Brian is a major part of that.

I am doing awesome.... but I know without the guidance of the right person, I would have stopped a long time ago and been frustrated. I give credit where credit is due.... I have accomplished so much with the help of Brian Lepine, personal trainer extraordianaire. He has changed my life in so many ways!

Brian's approach has been to ensure his client's complete health and wellness starting with his first step of finding out what you want from your health and wellness journey. Simple step, but I never put it in writing and had someone keep me focused on the goals. After that he focuses you each week with one new step such as more water, more cardio and track those calories. Brian always keeps the workouts new and improved with the next level of exercises and how to do them properly and safely. The best part of having a trainer is he finds your weak spots and helps you correct them, even something as simple as balancing on one foot while moving a 6 lb ball.
