 Hello,
What do you guys think?
In addition to advertising "high venture" events, I think we should include "rank advancements" possibilities for those scouts who want to work towards an achievement and will get recognized at BOR. This way, it gets the scouts involved year round (every week), rather than just short-term (ie. just have to attend this one event).
If this is a valid idea, let's discuss execution plan at next meeting.
I understand that the scouts should run this, but it will take the adults to help setup the framework.

     Ranks in Venturing:

     Sports Bronze
     Religious Life Bronze
Arts & Hobbies Bronze Outdoor Bronze
     Sea Scout Bronze
     Gold
     Silver

Dung Tran

Hello Dung Tran and all others.

I think you bring up a good point.  We have had 2 kids earn awards in the past, but because both of them were not members of the troop (just the Crew) this was not seen at the troop COH.

We do have a “Venturing Book” that talks about the Bronze, Gold, and Silver Awards, as well as the “Ranger Award”.  We also have a Venturing Oath, and other stuff that I need to get the new members up to speed with.  The biggest problem has been a small attendance from the new members at meetings.  Maybe this coming Thursday will help to get us started again.

Everyone remember; Thursday May 5th @ Mr. Millers Garage, 6793 Limerick Lane, Troy, MI 48098  (Handgun Safety)

See you there. . . YIS

Hello-

Justin Ashlock is planning on attending this Thursday.  He is not yet an official Crew member.  - Turns 18 in June - working on Eagle Project now.

Just keeping all informed.  Please let me know if anything is required for him to attend Thursday.  (I know he needs to memorize the handgun safety rules)
