A tribute to Rod Abbott, Councellor Valerie Abbott's husband

As many of you know, Rod Abbott, Councellor Valerie Abbott's husband
died last Thursday. Valerie Abbott does represent Crestwood North on
the City Council. She has also been very supportive of Crestwood and
attends most of our monthly neighborhood meetings. Many people have
asked how we as a neighborhood can express our sympathy to Valerie.
The obituary in the Birmingham News stated that the family asked that
donations be made to the Birmingham Humane Society in lieu of
flowers. I will collect donations at my home through Friday. Checks
should be made out to the Birmingham Humane Society. I will sent the
neighborhood donation to the humane society on Saturday. A sympathy
card will also be sent to Valerie. If you have any questions, please
