Remote Sensing Design

I've been trying to find resources to meet this learning objective.  I'm new to remote sensing and I don't feel my instructor has properly structured the curriculum for me to be able to do this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. You'll find below how the learning objective is stated.

1.      Be able to explain in its entirety how you would perform a RS study for a specific interest.
