Sonos Beam Volume Control

Hi All

 

I have a site with two client supplied Samsung TVs with Sonos Beams Connected via ARC.

 

Both TVs are being fed/controlled with an NVX D20.

 

TV1 is being controlled by CEC for Power and Ex-Link for all other commands. When I try and adjust the volume I get a "Not Available" message pop up on the screen and the volume does not change. Volume works fine if the soundbar is not connected and I'm just controlling TV volume.

 

TV2 is being controlled by IR. When I try and adjust the volume I get a "AVR Receivere Volum xx" message pop up on the screen, but soundbar volume does not change. again, volume works fine if the soundbar is not connected and I'm just controlling TV volume.

 

It seems that volume commands don't get passed over the ARC connection from the TV to the soundbar?

 

Does anyone know if there is a way around this without adding an IR emitter to the Sonos Beam? If that is the only solution does anyone know where I should locate it on the Beam? Can it be hidden?
