Why do you I hear a knocking on wood type of sound when I am on the phone with other iPhone users? Does anyone else have this problem? It is very annoying I tried iPhone reset and carrier and hardware and no luck
I just googled this after experiencing this for last year. I have iPhone 13 pro and most people I call I can hear what sounds like someone hammering in the background. Also, the people I am speaking with can't hear it, just me. They think I am crazy. Any luck on your end? I did see a reddit thread of other people having the same issue over a year ago. What provider do you have? I was Sprint, now T-Mobile.
I just changed from cricket to Mint and I have an iPhone SE. Tonight I called my son who is also in Mint. I could clearly hear a knocking sound like knocking at the door. My son does not hear it. Why would I be hearing a knocking sound when I make a call?
Ps: I noticed on some other threads back in 2015, that iphone 6 and 6S users with Verizon had a similar issue. No solution seems to have been found other than switching service, maybe we should do the same.
I just received my new iPhone 6. I know that you can mute the camera shutter sound by muting the phone with the button on the side, but this just doesn't work for iPhone 6. Is it just me? How can I fix it?
You can minimize the noise by turning the volume down. I've also found that it's very easy to put your finger over the speaker at the bottom of the phone as you take a picture. That almost completely stops the sound.
Second, if it is Japanese model iPhone you cannot turn off the camera shutter sound completely because of the Japanese law of the upskirt photography. The shutter sound will stay on the entire time even if you have lower the volume down or silent the ringer on the phone. I spoke to an Apple Technician one time about certified refurbished phones. I bought an iPhone 5 on Amazon.com back in July, but two times already they sent me two Japanese iPhones and not a US certified iPhone. I had to return them both because I was unsatisfied with the Japanese iPhones. Therefore, I ended up buying it on Ebay. Before buying an iPhone, I would suggest to ask the seller first if they carry another country's phone before purchasing the phone. Keep in mind, different countries have different laws such as video chatting and picture taking.
If you live in Japan, I would suggest you to just keep the phone because of the law in Japan when taking photos of anything, the shutter sound has to stay on. There is no way the Japanese phone can control in turning off the shutter sound completely. Due to the Japan law of the upskirt photography, I do not think it is not such good idea to buy another country's iPhone in which you want to turn off the camera shutter sound completely. In Japan, they prohibited you to turn off the camera shutter sound completely.
Actually they do. But some Apple Store in Japan the staffs are not good with English. But in my case the stuff did struggling trying to warn me the sound cannot be mute. I hope Apple can change the set if you leave the country. We do have GPS inside phone. It won't be big issue, depends on whether they bother to do it or not
I bought a refurbished gold iPhone 6 recently, in the USA, but turning off tiger still won't turn of the shutter sound. This is very frustrating for me, is there anything else I can try to stop the sound?
Are you in Japan? If you are then you can't turn off the shutter sound, even if you turn the ringer off. Phones in Japan do not allow people to silence the shutter noise. It is to prevent people from taking sneak photos.
I bought an Iphone in Japan and only just discover the shutter sound issue. this is serious to me because sometimes in symposiums I need to take pictures of presentation (legally) and it's now not possible with the shutter sound. I have read somewhere that 3rd party camera app can mute it, but I tried several things like Camera 360, ProCamera but the sound still present. Can someone recommend an app?
I understand you are hearing a "clicking" sound when you swipe on the display on your iPhone 11. This is most likely the Haptics that you are experiencing. Try changing some of the settings on your iPhone to change this behavior.
And like all the earlier users, nothing works. I've tried setting my phone to silent mode, turning system haptics off, resetting all my sounds and vibrations settings, turning off vibration in accessibility, performing a hard reset (volume up, volume down, press and hold lock button until apple logo comes back on), updating my iOS..
I have iphone 11 and I also observed the same issue after 13.3 update. Today I went to Apple store. First they did factory reset/resintalled iOS, issue existed, then they changed haptic engine, but still the issue exists. I have tested an iphone 11 and 11 pro at store. iphone 11 had the same issue and 11 pro didn't have.
All of a sudden, no sound on hulu. I have tried restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling, turning up the volume, turning bluetooth on/off...nothing. What do I do now? All other apps (youtube, amazon prime, etc) work. Just not HULU. Any thoughts?
That didn't work. :( Sometimes when I open another video if it has sound I can go back and then it will work. But even that isn't working today. We shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops just to get sound on Hulu! :(
I keep on waking up so late and having to miss days off school because my alarm will go off but won't make any sound and then I would eventually wake up by myself when I should've been in school 2 hours before and my alarm is just on the screen but not making sound and so obviously it didn't wake me up.
This is very annoying as I really hate having to take a day off school because not being up in time. For example my school starts at 8:30 and so I planned to get up at 5:00 to wash my hair and get makeup done and that so I would have plenty of time to get ready but as it turns out, my alarm decided not to make sound and so I ended up waking up at 8:20 so I cannot wash my hair and do makeup which would take 2 hours and then walk to school because I would get there at 10:30 which is halfway through the day and this has happened more than once and it is extremely frustrating.
If all settings are correct but your iPhone alarm still won't make any sound, try to reset all settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Then restart your iPhone and create new alarms.
I also know that the footage from my Canon DSLR still works fine. It's just really bizarre that it stopped working when I haven't installed or updated anything on my PC since last using Premiere Pro, when iPhone clips worked just fine. I should also note that when I first opened the program today it asked me to sign into my Adobe account (it doesn't usually) and it has been running slower than usual, but only Premiere Pro. All other programs are working just fine.
I am having the same issue. I shot some promotional material partially on a D4S and an iPhone6 and the later does not import any sound. I also went through the steps you mentioned so far. I wonder if this has something to do with the recent update to CC2017 by any chance?
Not sure if anyone has encounters this issue, or know how to deal with it. My QC35 II can connect with my iPhone, the sound is directed to the headphones, but no sound will play through the headphones. The headphones work just fine connecting with other devices, and the iPhone work just fine with other earbuds. Any idea what is causing this issue?
Adjust the volume of the shutter sound using the volume buttons on the side of your iPhone. Or, when Camera is open, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open Control Center, then drag .
Hi, I actually went to an apple store and got a replacement. The problem is still there. After a phone restart, the wired sound goes away. But after 3 or 4 days, the sound comes back. I think it is a software issue, but could not figure out what triggers the wired sound. I don't think it is the "shutter" sound, that's why adjust volume does not work in this case.
I have the same problem (if it is a problem indeed, I would like to know if it is!) - when the camera is being activated (in any application using the camera) I hear quiet sound coming from the lens. And of course it is not the sound from the speakers, it has nothing to to with sound settings, with taking a photo, the phone being muted or not. The sound comes just from the lens when camera start working. The sound is like "tick".
The problem is that Apple has not given an answer whether this is a hardware problem or maybe this is the way how iPhone's camera works. I have read several threads on this community and on independent forums where users have given accounts of how their cases have been treated by the service... Service's answers varies from "everything is OK, we do not see a problem" or "we will replace the camera in your phone" to "we will replace your phone with the new one". It seams that they have no idea what is going on and I do not know if I should be afraid that they screwed up and there is a hardware problem which they cannot solve.
I guess that everything is OK and the "tick" sound does not indicate a problem, but it would be great if the producer would take a stand. The problem is weird - yesterday lens of camera of my phone "ticked" every time it was activated, today it remains silent...
