Next Saturday 2/6 is the Mardi Gras Brevet!
We will be riding the Abita - Folsom - Abita route starting from the Trailhead on Koop Rd at 6:30 AM  We need to start then to be sure to get through Bush before their parade sets out.
All riders should bring lights and reflective gear. The ride usually takes about 11 hrs and we may need them while we are finishing up.
Anyone who wants to ride please respond to this e-mail or call me before Thursday at 3 PM.. I will be making up the cards and que sheets Thursday evening

Tell him to just bring a 30#.  I already added 10# to my belly box.  Probably just going to get up real early and drive down that morning.

I'll ask Dennis to check - he probably has 2 15 pounders at least.
That along with Stevie letting a bit of air out of your tires may allow the rest of us to keep up with you.
Looking forward to riding with you again
Hope your vision is doing well

Don't worry, I'm a good bit slower these days.  May have to out training wheels on, even!  Looking forward to it!

Pat, count me in!

Dennis, do I get a couch Friday night with my buddy Bip?

The couch you got, but Maria sez ix-nay on your little buddy Bip; he’s too bad to spend the night outside of his closet!

… you don’t pull the mask off that old lone ranger, and you don’t mess around with Bip!

It is with deep regret that I won't be riding tomorrow and will instead spend the weekend caring for my ride buddy Pat and his pet kidney stone. It is only in solidarity that I do this, and my bail out has nothing to do with freezing temps at push off. Really.

Have fun y'all, and don't forget the hand warmers!

Tomorrow mornings ride will begin at the Trailhead on Koop Rd just outside of Abita at 6:30 AM.
Last night I made up cards for:
Dennis
Pat
Stevie
Jeff
Michelle
Dougie
Tim Kraus
Marsha Shaw

Temperature at the ride start is predicted to be about 32 degrees but it should warm up to about 58. wind is expected to be very mild (less than 8 mph) and 0% chance for rain.

I will not be able to ride after all. Spent last night in the Ochsner ER with stomach pain. After X-rays and a CAT scan they found a 7mm Kidney stone on my right side. Doc said I should not ride and Cindy heard him say it (Damn, I hate doctors). Stevie has also dropped out (nothing to do with the weather) in order to support me emotionally and prepare for a 200K perm later this month when the Doc says I can.

I will be getting the cards and maps to Dennis' this evening so there will not be any problems there.

Have a great ride!

We will ride this one for the Gipper, then. Know that we will all be suffering in our own special way.
