I first heard about this tragedy while sitting in a remote cabin high up in the northern Patagonian Andes. We had planned for several weeks without TV over the holidays. But on the drive from Neuqun we had heard about the tsunami on the radio while stopped at a gas station. As news junkies we were dismayed that we had spent several days traveling without hearing about the tsunami. After arriving at the cabin, we glad to see that it had DirecTV. As we watched the endless coverage of the tsunami, news of the nightclub fire in Buenos Aires crawled along the bottom of the screen. I called Ceci into the room from the kitchen and we turned to CNN Espaol, hoping for a live report from Buenos Aires.
Above the street, shoes dangle by their laces over the electrical wire. Empty shoes, never to be worn again, have become one of the symbols of the tragedy. One of the most moving parts of the memorial is a pile of dozens of shoes that belonged to the kids who were trapped in the burning club, the emergency exits locked shut.

a veces pienso porq la gente es tan basura y esto lo digo por una cosa q pase hace poco me paso q pase por un lugar y me dijeron aguante cromaon a mi eso m cayo muy mal porq no entiendo como la gente puede joder con algo asi y yo justo m encontre con un amigo y le conte y el m dijo q habia muerto una amiga de el ahi asi q se puso re mal y yo tambien m puse mal por eso q dijeron y la verdad es q molesta yo por suerte no perdi a nadie ahi pero conocidos mios si y m parece injusto q alguien venga a bardear de esa forma bueno me despido aguante callejeros y el pato q es un capo porq a pesar de lo q le paso tiene fuerzas para seguir y eso me hace feliz porq me gusta ver tocar a callejeros ojala sigan asi los amo y no bajen los brazos nunca sigan agitando rocanroles por siempre
what people doesnt understand, and kids they dont understand neither is that people like me, who was inside, is hurt by listening to their music, by just knowing they perform shows live. because our friends died that night, as simple as that, and just by hearing their music it reminds us that night.
on january 2006 i went to this festivial inargentinian coast call GESELL ROCK, in there they put a record of callejeros and my heart crashed, it actually ruined my summer, its hard to express, and i know that its hard por people like the one who signed above that it hurts us to listen to their music, and i think that is a matter of respect that callejeros stops playing live
