Voordat je aan de slag kunt gaan, heb je eerst een licentie nodig voor het installeren van Windows 10. Vervolgens download je het hulpprogramma voor het maken van media. Zie de onderstaande instructies voor meer informatie over het gebruik van het hulpprogramma.

Windows 10 installeert op een pc met Windows XP of Windows Vista, of als je installatiemedia moet maken om Windows 10 op een andere pc te installeren; zie onderstaande sectie Het hulpprogramma voor het maken van installatiemedia (USB-flashstation, dvd of ISO-bestand) gebruiken om Windows 10 op een andere pc te installeren.

Nadat je het besturingssysteem hebt gedownload en genstalleerd, volg je de instructies om Windows 10 in te stellen op je pc. Alle edities van Windows 10 zijn beschikbaar als je Windows 10 selecteert, behalve de Enterprise Edition. Ga naar het Volume Licensing Service Center voor meer informatie over de Enterprise Edition.

Volg deze stappen voor het maken van installatiemedia (USB-flashstation, of dvd) waarmee je een nieuwe versie van Windows 10 kunt installeren, een schone installatie kunt uitvoeren of Windows 10 opnieuw kunt installeren.

Als je Office 2010 of ouder hebt en een schone installatie van Windows 10 wilt uitvoeren, zoek dan eerst je Office-productcode. Tips voor het vinden van je productcode vind je in De productcode voor Office 2010 zoeken of De productcode voor je Office 2007-programma invoeren.

Nadat je de stappen voor de installatie van Windows 10 hebt voltooid, controleer je of alle benodigde apparaatstuurprogramma's zijn genstalleerd. Als je nu wilt controleren op updates, klik je op de Startknop en ga je naar Instellingen > Bijwerken en beveiliging > Windows Update. Selecteer Naar updates zoeken. Je kunt ook naar de ondersteuningssite van de fabrikant van je apparaat gaan voor eventuele extra stuurprogramma's die je nodig hebt.

Voordat je Windows 10 installeert is het raadzaam je werk op te slaan en een back-up van je pc te maken. Als je het hulpprogramma voor het maken van media hebt gebruikt om een ISO-bestand voor Windows 10 te downloaden, dien je het bestand op een dvd te branden voordat je verder kunt gaan.

Als de pc niet automatisch opnieuw wordt opgestart vanaf het USB- of dvd-medium, moet je mogelijk een opstartmenu openen of de opstartvolgorde wijzigen via de BIOS- of UEFI-instellingen van de pc. Meestal moet je onmiddellijk na het inschakelen van de pc op een toets drukken (zoals F2, F12, Delete of Esc) om het opstartmenu te openen of de opstartvolgorde te wijzigen. Instructies over het openen van het opstartmenu of het wijzigen van de opstartvolgorde vind je in de documentatie bij de pc of op de website van de fabrikant. Als het USB- of dvd-apparaat niet wordt vermeld bij de opstartopties, moet je mogelijk contact opnemen met de pc-fabrikant voor instructies over het tijdelijk uitschakelen van Beveiligd opstarten via de BIOS-instellingen.

Als het wijzigen van het opstartmenu of de opstartvolgorde niet werkt en de pc onmiddellijk wordt opgestart naar het besturingssysteem dat je wilt vervangen, is de pc mogelijk niet volledig afgesloten toen deze de vorige keer werd uitgeschakeld. Klik op de aan/uit-knop op het aanmeldingsscherm of in het Startmenu en kies Afsluiten om de pc volledig af te sluiten.

Als je een ISO-bestand voor Windows 10 downloadt, wordt het bestand op je pc opgeslagen op de locatie die je aangeeft. Als je een programma voor het branden van dvd's van derden op je pc hebt en je gebruikt dat voor het maken van de installatie-dvd, kun je dat program openen door naar de locatie van het ISO-bestand te gaan en dubbel te klikken op het bestand. Je kunt ook met de rechtermuisknop op het bestand klikken en Openen met kiezen en je favoriete dvd-brander kiezen.

Als je het Windows-hulpprogramma voor het branden van schijfkopiebestanden wilt gebruiken om een installatie-dvd te maken, ga dan naar de locatie waar het ISO-bestand is opgeslagen. Klik met de rechtermuisknop op het ISO-bestand en selecteer Eigenschappen. Klik op de Algemene tab op Wijzigen en kies Windows Explorer om ISO-bestanden te openen en kies vervolgens Toepassen. Klik vervolgens op het ISO-bestand en kies Schijfkopiebestand branden.

Als je Windows 10 rechtstreeks van het ISO-bestand wilt installeren zonder een dvd of flashstation te gebruiken, kan dat door het ISO-bestand te koppelen. Hiermee werk je je huidige besturingssysteem bij naar Windows 10.

I've been encountering a persistent problem with the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool. Whenever I attempt to use it to upgrade my system, it either fails to start, crashes midway, or completes without creating a usable media. Specifically, I get the error code 0x80072f8f - 0x20000 during the process.

Additionally, there are times when the tool does not seem to detect the USB drive I intend to use for the installation media. I've ensured my internet connection is stable and have tried running the tool as an administrator, but these steps haven't resolved the issues. Before trying to use Windows 11 media creation tool usb, make sure you have run some system repair and scanning commands. First, open a command prompt, preferably run it as an administrator, and then run the following commands in order:

After completing these scans and repairs, try running the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool USB as administrator again. This tool can be slow to start sometimes, so please be patient for a few minutes.

If you have tried all the suggestions on the forum and the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool is still not working, then the problem may lie in the fact that the DISM tool itself is corrupted, or that there is an error in the registry. In this case, you may need to take a more direct approach to installing Windows 11.

I suspect you may be trying to use the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool USB with an external 2TB hard disk rather than a standard USB flash drive. Note that the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool is primarily designed to make a bootable USB flash drive for installing Windows 11 on your computer. this tool does not support installing Windows 11 directly on an external hard drive. if the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool doesn't work and you want to make your 2TB hard drive bootable and install Windows 11 while preserving other data, you can do this: right-click on "this" hard drive to install Windows 11 while preserving other data.

If the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool not working and you want to make your 2TB hard disk bootable and install Windows 11 while preserving other data, you can do it like this: Right-click on "This computer" and select "Manage" to open "Computer Management". Then, go to Disk Management and try to extend the partition to utilize all the unallocated disk space. In this way, your hard disk will be able to install Windows 11 as well as store other data.

I just tried to make a Win10 USB boot disk today using the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool and everything went fine. If you're having problems with the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool not working, you might want to check to see if your USB drive is large enough. It needs to be at least 8GB, though I'd recommend 16GB.

If you choose the ISO file option, the tool will save the ISO file to the internal drive you specify, which is especially helpful for doing upper system repair installations. After that, you can also use software like RUFUS to "burn" the ISO file to a CD or USB drive (although the term "burn" is a carryover from the CD days). These steps can help you solve the problem of Windows 11 media creation tools not working.

Error code 0x80072f8f - 0x20000 is a known issue with the Media Creation Tool. It's often caused by network connectivity problems or issues with the Windows Update service. Some antivirus software might interfere with the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool. Try temporarily disabling it and see if that resolves the issue.

@PedroBitting Windows 11 Media Creation Tool is still not working? Sometimes, the tool might get stuck in a bad state. Try resetting it by deleting the %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Downloaded Program Files folder and then running the Media Creation Tool again.

If Windows 11 Media Creation Tool not working because usb is not recognized, please make sure the USB drive is at least 8 GB in size and formatted as NTFS or FAT32. Some drives might need to be reformatted before burning Windows 11 ISO to it.

If not, you can probably delete it by doing a disk cleanup. Right click the drive, select properties from the bottom of the list. In the general tab select disk cleanup, wait for it to calculate, then click clean up system files, wait again then while it finds all the update files - hopefully it will remove the folder then, and select OK to delete it.

The creation tool only removes the temporary files after a successful ISO or USB media creation. If it fails, the temporary files have to be removed by the Disk Cleanup tool:
