We (the team) is now at our final stages of our education. The project is handed in and the team is going their seperate ways. Because of this the production and development is put on hold for now and the updates will not be as frequent as they have used to be.
In `Animation Studio Tycoon` you take on the role as a young, ambitious Animator during the birth-stages of the industry and into the golden age. The age we've set is +7 years of age - however someone below 7 years would most likely rock this game. It's mainly the language (unknown words/strange words) and the actions/gameplay itself. But please do play together with kids and younglings! We wish feedback from all ages, genders and branches of the society!
Sure was and is! Heavily inspired by it and we lent the music from it, as a homage to its legacy. Looking at it in retrospect we should have written it in the credits. Since there was no commercial release of AST or any revenue made of it there was no problem to use it.
i like the concept i just hope the people from the game the movies don't fine you for taking a song they put on their game... back in the day.. not sure if someone else said anything about it i like the idea as i said... fun otherwise
This game is pretty good, like the comments below says it does experience some bugs at times, but if this game ever gets revived and developed again, I have a feeling it would get more and more attention, it's not easy to find animation tycoon type games, so if it does get updated often, I would likely play it a-lot more.
I really do try to stay away from indie games. I feel that every time I play an indie game I risk getting burned on a bad investment. Game Dev Tycoon from Green Heart Games is one that is not to be shucked.
This is not poorly researched. Let it be known that in fact many developers DID start off in a bedroom studio. Blizzard Entertainment (before they eventually were bought out by a publisher) started off as a three-man development team working from their home apartment. They produced four games before they were able to afford to move out of that place.
Eventually your studio expands and you get access to an R&D lab. Here you can research AAA titles which offer insanely high pay outs but long production cycles, MMOs which have a maintenance cost but insanely high sales, and the Steam paltform which just gives you monthly income.
Even firing employees is pretty well stigmatized. This is a staple of the video game industry. They lay off half of their staff after every game comes out. Currently there is a huge disincentive to lay off any employees.
Finally the game could also use an overhaul to add for extra development teams and multi-project management.. Once again this is not something they have. Maybe one studio will work on a single AAA title. But maybe also one studio will work on 5 small projects simultaneously.

That's a long old time, even by game development standards. I recently had a chance to sit down at a roundtable with the studio's director and manager Patrick Klug to get an early peek into Tavern Keeper.
While the game's releasing into early access, that can mean a lot of different things. Klug reveals that while the studio is "close to having everything" developed, it "won't plan to release everything at early access simply because, like, I think it works better to polish your early game [first] and then apply these lessons."
Greenheart Games' story isn't necessarily rare in the industry at all. In fact, Johan Pilestedt of Arrowhead Games (which made a little thing called Helldivers 2) recently revealed that his team had started with the intention of building the game out in three years. Instead, it took seven.
Hello. I want to create a movie business simulation game like game dev tycoon using BYOND's DM engine. I am not good at game design at the moment. I have a design document that I will paste here soon but I don't know how to use it. I want you to choose which movies you create, how to hire and handle staff and how to market the movies. But I don't know how the game will work and which formulas to use. I need to know how this game will work/play. Like you will click create movies then input the name, the genre etc... But what will be the formulas such as using your money for movie production, what score reviews of the movie will give, how the movie will be marketed etc...? How will you use staff?
