Hey y'all, there's now an Atlanta Creatives United group on LinkedIn.
Just go to the Groups tab on the left, then Search for "Creatives
United" - voila!

Howdy, more layoffs yesterday. They let Richard in QA, Ethiopia in creative and Gary in development go. Round 2 and I'm still here. Lynn told me this morning I'm apparently on the short list to keep. But still going to get my resume updated and need to start doing something with my website.

I remember what that was like. I also remember what worked.

Spend more time hanging out other people in the industry and less time messing with resumes and portfolios. Many potential employers are busy and need SomeoneWhoKnowsSomeone to find you. If you're looking for help, it's the only way to go. You'll get to flash your portfolio right before they chuck you into a freelance project. Your performance on the project turns out to work like a free interview. If you did good, the rest is just formalities.

Now go to some holiday parties and find SomeoneWhoKnowsSomeone - she's got better work for you.
