Professionals for Animal Welfare -- this week I heard from four animal
welfare organizations that need volunteer creative help, from
marketers to logo designers. Please check out the project descriptions

National Samoyed Rescue Seeks Volunteer Web Designer and Logo Designer
National Samoyed Rescue (http://www.samoyedrescue.org) is a breed
specific, 501 (c-3) federal nonprofit, dog rescue organization. We,
and our fourteen affiliated rescues, are dedicated to helping Samoyeds
in need. Our website was started seven years ago with the help of
several of our volunteers. However, over time, as all volunteer
organizations seem to go, our volunteers became too busy to help
maintain and properly update our website. Over the last four years we
have had five webmasters and website help volunteers come and go. At
this point, and for nearly the last two years our website has seen few
updates, additions or changes. We are looking for volunteer(s) to help
put our website "back on the map" so to speak and add some very
critical information while at the same time "training" me to do it
myself. We are looking for website help, website design update, some
marketing ideas and graphics/illustrations that would catch the eyes
of our visitors. Creativity and originality are the keys.
We also own a second website (http://www.samoyedrescue.info) that is
linked back to our other website but, it is my hope that we can turn
that in to a website promoting responsible dog ownership and owners
rights.
I am also looking at creating a new logo for our organization.
I know these are big projects but, the time frame is open and we can
do a little at a time to get it just right. We are in no big hurry.

Safe Haven Animal Shelter and Wildlife Center Seeks Volunteer
Marketer, PR Person, Logo Designer and Graphic Designer
We are trying to open an animal shelter and wildlife center in the
southern part of our county. There is only one shelter in the county
and it is far away and usually full. There is nowhere to bring sick,
injured or orphaned wildlife. We are just beginning our fund raising
events. We don't have any experience with this and need help with
marketing, PR and we are trying to come up with a logo that will
combine pets and wildlife go that the public knows we care for both.
We want to have a "smarter shelter" -- place where all dogs are
evaluated or a certified evaluator and a plan will be formulated to
rehabilitate dogs so that they will find a forever home. We plan
offer educational programs to the public and a feral cat neuter/spay
program.
We could use some help with PR and marketing our event on June 26th (4
hour pet expo).
I also need some help with the design of a brochure and adding
pictures to make it look nice. All it is right now is text.

Harmony Fund International Animal Welfare Foundation Seeks Volunteer
Advocacy Liaison
Beginning in June, the Harmony Fund international animal welfare
foundation will debut online alongside its partner organization The
Great Animal Rescue Chase. The two will work in tandem to bring
relief to some of the most significant animal protection crises of our
time and to throw down the starting flag on a worldwide rescue mission
to save one million animals. The project is well managed and governed
by seasoned professionals on the international stage. We're looking
for a highly organized and devoted professional who can devote 6 – 7
hours a week as an animal advocacy liaison. You’ll answer questions
from our supporters and field inquiries from animal charities and
others. We’d also love some help keeping our Facebook and Twitter
accounts fresh and exciting. There is tremendous potential for growth
and additional responsibilities depending on your own unique talents.
This will soon become a paid, part-time position, but we are looking
for someone who would be kind enough to volunteer for the short term
until we are able to put them on the payroll (possibly by January/
Feb). We’d also love to hear from anyone else who has a particular
interest in this project and may be able to offer their time as we

Unleashed Seeks Volunteer Marketer and PR Person
Unleashed was created to bring together single animal lovers and
adoptable animals through social events held in animal shelters.
I started a non-profit event series to benefit animal shelters. I'd
like to promote my first event to single animal lovers in the NYC
area. I need help with Marketing, PR and finding sponsors (to provide
drinks and snacks at the event).
I need to get the word out to attract more attendees to the event and
need help finding sponsors to provide/pay for food, supplies and
drinks at the event for guests. Your group seemed like the perfect
resource for my event, I was so happy when I found it. I have no
budget, but can guarantee that this project will be rewarding.
