This sounds very interesting (see forwarded). I don't read German
though, so can't quite make sense of the entries at the site.

The main music industry fair in Germany, the annual "Popkomm" was
canceled this year, supposedly because "many companies in the industry
cannot afford to attend due to theft on the internet". Many insiders
regarded this as a purely pretended argument, used with the intention
to generate political pressure towards internet blocking legislation
similar to the French model.

As a reaction, the music scene of Berlin (as well as the majors
located there) and numerous independent labels have teamed up and
launched a completely new platform to fill the gap: "all2gethernow"
http://www.a-2-n.de
In record time they set up a barcamp, a conference and a #cloud of
events and workshops around those, lasting the whole week from 15th to
18th September.

CC Germany will co-host one track of the #camp dedicated to
"Collecting societies and rights management" and Paul Keller of CC
Netherlands is going to speak at the #conference about their
Buma/Stemra pilot project. But also many other tracks and workshops
will touch private order licensing. Needless to say that the program
of the #cloud will guarantee for a great nightlife in that week.

a2n is open for everyone and tickets are available already (see
website), so if members of this group are planning a trip to Berlin
...
