I just reinstalled Win 98 and now I get this error when I boot up:

The creative sound blaster PCI128 driver can not load MIDI waveset.
MIDI playback has been disabled.

I don't show any confolcts in the device manager and I tried the newer
drivers from the creative site but I get the same error. Anyone know
what's going on here?

First you need a waveset, you can use 2Mb, 4Mb, or 8Mb waveset, all three
are included on the original driver disk but they are not included with
drivers downloaded from the website.
The files are called "eapci2m.ecw", "eapci4m.ecw", and "eapci8m.ecw"
respectively and can all be dowloaded from most of creatives websites, just
type which file you want and it should find it for you.

You put the waveset in windows\system then open waveset manager
and add the waveset.

If you cannot find "waveset manager" you can add the waveset by opening
"Device Manager" (control panel > system > device manager), open PCI128
properties (sound, video and game controllers > Creative Labs Sound Blaster
PCI128 > properties > settings), click "Add Waveset", here is the "waveset
manager".

Try here:

don't forget the whole address if it gets wrapped.

I know, It's a bit strange how Creative have so many different websites, how
much are they spending on webmasters to keep that lot going.
Perhaps if they had one website they could put the rest of the money into
driver support.

Once and for all..answer this question, are you just joe blow or do you work
for Creative? If you work for Creative, then does our screem's for driver
support for Windows ME and Windows 2000 ever reach higher up. This is
getting damn rediculous!!!

I'm Rich Hall, I work for nobody.

You could always try kidnapping or a good old terrorist siege and hostage
scenario might get their attention.

LOL...good one, maybe we the people will have to resort to that with someone
soon but i'm going back to win98, this way my "Ensoniq AudioPCI 128" will
sound better than using this joke (win me) that microsoft flopped onto our
laps.
