I've been using my old warhorse of a Nomad Jukebox (the original
blue/silver one, shaped like a CD player) for a good while now. It
served me well up until now. Two days ago it wouldn't turn on via
hitting the "play" button, but unplugging and plugging it into wall
power did trigger its power-on sequence. Today, however, that trick
doesn't seem to work, and the jukebox won't turn on for any reason.
When I say it won't turn on, I mean I see no signs of life from it. The
HD doesn't spin up, the LCD doesn't turn on; for all intents and
purposes, it seems dead.
The batteries haven't worked for awhile (though I kept them in until
this all started happening a few days ago) and I've been running it off
wall power for as long as I can remember, so those aren't the
problem(and, yes, I tried putting them back in to double check.) I
tried the reset button on the bottom and had no luck, either.
If it's dead for good, I can't complain about it dieing before its
time, but it just seems weird that it'd suddenly go tits up for no
reason. So far as I can tell, I didn't change anything; One days its
working, the next day its not.
Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have one too.
It's probably dead but here's a long shot.
Have you tried the 'three finger salute' to boot to the maintenance menu?
(it's been a while so, iirc) you hold down the EAX, middle button (the
one below the LCD), and the down arrow. While holding all three, reach
in and hit the ON button.
What to do from there requires some googling. There are choices in the
maintenance window that will trash the player so be careful if you get
that far...
look around here for starters.

I know it doesn't apply but when I first got mine, I bought another
(aftermarket) AC adapter so I could run it at work and home without
lugging the adapter along. First time I plugged it in, the player did
nothing. It killed it instantly. (too high voltage from the unregulated
power supply.
Point is, when they die they don't go aaarrrghhh...! like they do in the
movies. They just stop working.

Is the power supply still working?
Often from repeated use, a wire can get cut on the brick power supply
cable, from simply flexing it over and over.
If OK, you should open the box, you've nothing to loose now, since its
basically toast. Once open:
Has the power connector gotten disconnected or cut?
is there a fuse, is it blown and replaceable?
If not, then the trouble maybe in the power filter circuitry on the Nomad,
and if its surface mount devices, its not worth fixing.
