What do you use to connect to a 0404 card?

Greetings, all.

I have the 0404 installed in my PC and am using an old 4-track cassette
deck (Tascam 464 PortaStudio) as a "front-end" into the card. I like having
all the inputs - and being able to route signals to outboard effects is a
plus. I do use some plug-ins, but there are a few hardware devices that I
still get a lot of use out of.

Am I missing anything by continuing to use the 464 as a mixer, instead
of getting a "real" mixer, or is this a case of "If it ain't broke, don't
fix it"? Opinions?
