Can someone tell me? Ola Strandth uses this often. I'm not used to all
those NG-abbreveations.

Thanks,

I thought it meant "lots of laughs"? In any case, it is supposed to
indicate that the comment it follows was intended to be humorous.

It appears that George Lucas uses a formula to create all those stupid names
you see in the Star Wars trilogy and Phantom Menace (JarJar Binks, ObiWan,
etc.). Well...I have got hold of the formula!

To see what your Star Wars name is, follow the steps below...

Your Star Wars First Name:
--------------------------
Take the first 3 letters of your last name.
Add to that, the first 2 letters of your first name.

Your Star Wars Last Name:
-------------------------
Take the first 2 letters of your mother's maiden name.
Add to that the first 3 letters of the name of the town or
city you were born in.

There you go! There's your Star Wars Name! Write your Star Wars Name below
so everyone can laugh at your name with you! (Once you have added your
name, send it to all of your friends including the person who sent it to
you! Be sure to cut and paste onto a new message before adding your name to
keep it clean! Forwarding can become so messy.)

Lonan Stmus

1. TanJo Wober (John Tandy)
2. Tanan Wooak (Ann Tandy, who will use this as a psuedonym if she ever
writes a novel!)
3. Lonan Stmus (Andrew Longhurst)
4. Kusla Smeve (Laura Kuske)
5. Vonth Citea (Theo von Wallmenich)
6. Leban Grisl (Andrew Lebentz)
7. Osbda Yohan (Dawn Osborne)
8. Hilke Tewil (Kevin Hilley)
9. Kozha Jabuf (Harry Kozlowski)
10. Kozgi Lerid (Ginger Kozlowski)
11. Saija Conas (Janet St.Jean)
12. Saiam Baman ( Amanda St.Jean)
13. Whije Brgof (Jessica Whitney)
14. Friem Blpet (Emily Friedrich)
15. Allti Hanor (Tiffany Allen)
16. Wilmi Grnor (mike wilson)
17. Smime Grwhi (megan!)
18. Manma Hasyr (Matt Mannix)
19. Samam Leinv (Amber)
20. Mesel Vewhi (Megan)
21. LeJe BaSho (Jenny Le)
22. Schme Opmah (Megan S.)
23. Risni Niand (Nicole Rischer)
24. Neuje Sukan (Jeremy Neumann)
25. Westy Hifri (Tyler West)
26. Worja Ulcoo (Jamie Worsham)
27. Ostti Bocha (Tim Ostendorf)
28. Worde Liyok (Dede Worsham)
29. Boegr Sestp (Greg Boeshans)
30. Boest Megua (Stephanie Boeshans)
31. Nieiv Cosai (Ivan Niezgocki)
32. Ricke Capri (Ken Richardson)
33. Epped Buwat (Edna Epperson) That's better than my real name.
34. Winle Wapor (Leatrice Wingo) Umm... I think I like my real name better!
35. Benla Kodar ( Laura Benson) I think it's kinda cool!
36. Morch Molon (Charlie Morgan)... sounds like the DARK side of the Force
to me!!
37. Cauda Filfo (Dave Caulfield)...filfo, hmm, sounds appropriate.
38. Loctra Hoper (Tracy Locke)

Vahur,

You seem to have a problem with me personally that has no relevance

whatever to this NG. If that is the case please feel free to contact me
directly. Otherwise I'd appreciate your participation without constantly
making personal attacks and snipes to members of this group. It is not

constructive, it wins you no friends and it does not encourage
participation.

Please lighten up, enjoy the humour that is occasionally expressed in this

group and stop waging war every time anyone with something you disagree with
makes a posting.

I really cannot believe how stupid you are. It's such a rare chance, that
customers are able to share humour with the developers. And then, big
(already grown up) Mr. Vahur comes along, destroying this occasion.

This does to me look like an pretty harsh reply. I went looking all ovver
this newsgroup for attacs from Vahur and I couldn't find a thing! Are you
refferring to a particular one? All I found was a lot of advice on getting
rid of cracles, choosing the right monitor speakers etc.
You must realize that your words in here carry a bit more weight then the
words of the rest of us - because of where you work. Use them carefully.
I would like to thank you for your participation in this newsgroup though -
it's invaluable for us users to have you here.

When AJL started to make some funny statements, and Vahur tells him to grow
up, I can understand AJL and his reaction.

When AJL explains Emu's decision for 48kHz, and Vahur hysterically
contradicts him in every point, I can understand AJL and his reaction.

Mr Vahur is one of those people, who try to be more intelligent than the
experts. I despise this.

As you are talking abaout me I should to say that you not understanded me, and
it seem that Andrew too not.
As the tread was not serious, like the LOL!-s FAL!-s and ROFTL!-s were used
(by Andrew too), there was no reason to take "grow up" seriously. However he
not talked that as a joke and attacked me using not justifyed accusations...
I´m sorry abaut that.

For future reference, proper net etiquette is to use :-) (or some other
emoticon) to indicate humor when there is any chance at all it can be
taken the wrong way. Unfortunately, the flame wars in the past have
made many people very touchy, and it is just better to be safe rather
than sorry.

I do remember seeing you use some harsh words to Andrew on several
occasions regarding the V2 issue. This could just be a matter of
muffled translations (your grammar suggests you are not a native english
speaker), or it could be something else... I am making no judgements
here; but based on that history, your response of "Grow up..." can
easily be taken as a direct insult.

Now all of y'all, Grow up... :-)

I can't see why that statement should have been taken as serious - I didn't
understand it that way anyway. But understandable missunderstanding.

There have been a lot of stupid posts on that matter - by many writers. I
can understand that EMU staff is getting a bit edgy over it.

> Mr Vahur is one of those people, who try to be more intelligent than the

I can't see anything to rationalize that statement - that he's trying to be
more intelligent that anyone. I think this must be a mixture of language
problems (he's lives in Estonia) and general misunderstanding.

I really hate those arguments and flame wars that seem to rise here every
now and then - this group is such an exellent tool for us all to help each
other - with the invaluable assistance from some of the EMU staff. So lets
bury the hatches and start making some music!

I agree. T'was a long and hard week that preceeded this mail. I have since
had a personal mail from Vahur who has apologised for any implied insult to
which I have responded in kind. I think you are right to point out language
as being a barrier to communication - given more time I would have probably
come to the same conclusion. My apologies for any offence and my thanks to
all who support and participate in this NG. FYI I believe much of what Vahur
has contributed to the NG to be of great worth and hope he will continue to
make his presence felt in the future.
