A colleague at work showed me Mural.ly a few weeks ago and I registered but had nothing concrete to work on. When I knew we would have to do a design notebook I decided to use it.

I have been using Scratch for some years now, I really enjoy programming crazy things that come to my mind, sometimes with my son and daughter, so I wanted to show more than just the proposed About Me or 10 Blocks.

Keeping a design notebook is a good idea and the format or tool to build it should be the last thing encouraged. We know that some people prefer the visual or the textual or sound or even the movement to learn. The important thing I think is to have a place where we can go back to remember the lessons learned.

I have seen that some people used a blog, which is a good idea, but a collection of pictures tweeted could also work and, why not, just the collection of projects with instructions and notes in a Scratch studio could do the trick.

Aloha Leonel,

Thanks for introducing me to Mural.ly I love its presentation and usefulness.  I enjoyed what you had put together.  Even the link to your About Me presentation that came up in a convient pop up window.  Amazing.

Aloha,

ANTz

Leonel,

I liked your use of mural.ly. Visual learners like myself, can see the whole project at a glance and zoom in on the features that attract them. Visual learners are not fond of blogging. The text on Mural.ly is perfect for this type of learner.

I think I will try it for one of my reflections. Thank you for the suggestion.

Anthony,

Thanks for your comments! I am glad you liked Mural.ly

Do you have a design notebook? I would be most glad to see it and comment.

Marianne,

Thanks for your comments!

Curiously when I took the test to see what type of learner I am the result was reader/writer, which I think I am, but in this case Mural.ly just made sense to me.

Do you have a design notebook? I would be most glad to see it!

Leonel,
I love your Mural.ly presentation!  I am a visual person so this is great for me.  I think my student will benefit from this application as well.  Sometimes there are so many little steps that they have to follow when setting things up with technology.  I usually lose them by the third step.  Laying it out this way really may help.

As a design notebook it was very easy and enjoyable to read and take in all of the information.  Your about me project has very nice interactive features.  I also enjoyed playing your cats avoid sharks game.

I was using my blog as my design notebook but I think I will try switching to mural.ly.

Thank you for your insight!  I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Cindy,

Thanks a lot for you nice comments.

I saw your about me project and read your blog and I think I share many of your thoughts especially regarding deadlines and getting wrapped up by projects, it is like they never end because there is always a detail left to improve. In the case of Scratch it is very relevant because it is so easy to try to add a new feature.

The cat avoid sharks project is one of my favorites. One thing I learned doing it is that people enjoy very much playing the games they program.

Thanks again!

Leonel
