This year Scratch Day in New York City will be on December 1, 2018, again hosted by the Communication, Media, and Learning Technologies Design Program at Teachers College, Columbia University. We are expecting 200 children, parents, and teachers to attend. We want to offer workshops on a wide range of Scratch topics. Please consider leading a session on Scratch Day.
This is an exciting time with the roll out of Scratch 3.0 underway. The beta version of the programming editor is available now at https://beta.scratch.mit.edu/ and the Scratch website will transition to Scratch 3.0 on January 2, 2019, just a month after our Scratch Day. Workshops that highlight new project possibilities with Scratch 3.0 are especially welcome.
More information about Scratch Day is at www.logofoundation.org/scratchday where you will find links to the workshop guidelines and to the workshop proposal submit form. Please submit your proposal by October 20. You’ve be notified about acceptance by November 1.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions or suggestions about Scratch Day. And please forward this message to colleagues and friends who might be interested.
Thanks,
Michael
