Dear Rev. Melody,

Time to step up
our game to pass climate bills!

Join Thu. 3/5 at 7 PM!

It’s gametime in the Maryland General Assembly. In just a few weeks, all bills must pass their chamber of origin and move to the other chamber in order to have a chance at becoming law — a date known as crossover. Between now and then, we need to make sure that as many of our priority clean energy and climate bills pass as possible.

How do we do that? By continuing to apply grassroots pressure: sending postcards to legislators, calling them, submitting testimony, and showing up in Annapolis. To do that we need YOU!

SIGN UP NOW to join our next virtual Maryland Climate Action Meetup: Legislative Action Night! — on Thursday, March 5 from 7:00-8:00 PM. RSVP today for the Zoom link and details!

During the meeting, we’ll update you on what’s happening, then leave time for us to talk to each other about why these issues are personally important to us – our foundational climate stories that we can use to help us take action and recruit others to join our work.

We’ll focus on legislation to increase investments in solar battery storage and in public transit, as well as helping to hold polluters accountable for their contributions to the climate crisis. Then we’ll provide storytelling worksheets for you to craft your own story!

RSVP TODAY to join us next Thursday, March 5, for our virtual Maryland Climate Action Meetup: Legislative Action Night! Now is the time to get involved and make a real impact with our state lawmakers!

Here’s an overview of our priority legislation that still needs pressure to pass before crossover:

Affordable Solar Act (House Bill 0345/Senate Bill 0341)
