LIST OF CURRENT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES – 11 December 2014

Australia and Pacific Science Foundation(Project Grants) Closing date 6/3/15 –Project grants worth up to $15,000 per year for the maximum duration of three years to support projects in the biological or biophysical sciences, excluding medical research. Preference is given to activities that lead to improved systems of managing land, water, plants and animals in ways which will enhance the productivity and quality of food, fisheries, plants and forests, while simultaneously conserving the natural environment, preserving biodiversity, avoiding pollution of soils and water, and enhancing human welfare.
Bush Blitz Applied Taxonomy Grants Closing date 16/1/15 – up to $40,000 for a period 12 months or up to $80,000 for 18months to support further applied research utilising Bush Blitz data or the development of a product that helps meet Bush Blitz Program objectives. The purpose of these contract is to bridge the gap between taxonomy and applied outcomes through products such as educational tools for students/rangers/mine management, online resources, workshops, field guides etc and for further research with national agricultural, NRM or conservation outcomes.
Herman Slade Foundation(Research Grants) Closing date 6/3/15 – Research grants worth up to $30,000 per year for the maximum duration of three years to support projects in natural sciences, particularly on topics which are designed to improve the ways in which individuals and communities interact with their natural environments.
National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education, Curtin University (Student Equity in Higher Education Research Grants) Closing date 6/2/15 - proposals invited from high quality researchers and equity practitioners to conduct policy-relevant research aimed at supporting and informing policy and practice on student equity in higher education. Funding for several research projects is available through a competitive selection process. It is anticipated that the majority of grants will be for up to $30,000, although other mounts may be considered. Grants will commence in early 2015 and must be completed within six months.
INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Centre for Economic Policy Research (Exploratory Research Grants) Closing date 31/1/15 – grants worth between £10,000 and £35,000 over one year to enable researchers to explore new approaches to the study of firms in low-income countries and develop new or existing sources of data on these firms. Research may relate to private enterprises of all sizes and should produce results that will be useful for policy-making.
FELLOWSHIPS/SCHOLARSHIPS:
Arthritis Australia/Zimmer orthopaedic fellowships Closing date 28/2/15 – Fellowships are worth $25,000 for a six month period or $50,000 for one year to promotebest practice treatment for arthritis sufferers by enabling supervisors to improve their instructional skills and enhance the international exchange of orthopaedic knowledge and skills, as well as helping institutions to achieve their own educational goals and objectives.
