Call for Applications - ARC Linkage, Infrastructure Equipment Fund (LIEF) for 2016 funding

Dear Colleagues,
As you may be aware, a more strategic approach has been taken to the ARC Linkage, Infrastructure Equipment Fund (LIEF) grants put forward by Western Australian universities in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
In an effort to continue this successful process, we expect CSIRO, UWA, Murdoch, Curtin and ECU to run a similar process for 2015 proposals for 2016 funding. This will see running of both ECU Researcher Led Expression of Interest (EOI) process, as has operated in recent years, as well as a coordinated Strategic Led EOI process which will be resourced by the research management in the participating institutions.
ECU Researcher Led LIEF Expressions of Interest
The call for EOI for ECU Researcher Led LIEF EOI’s commences today. The relevant EOI form is attached to this email.
EOI’s should be completed and provided to myself (c.be...@ecu.edu.au) by close of business 19th December 2014.
Please note that the ECU Researcher Led bids should identify the importance of the equipment in contributing to the objectives of the ECUs research priorities and be supported by the relevant Schools and Faculty.
The level of financial support for any bid will be contingent on School/Faculty support and alignment with ECU’s strategic research priorities
ECU Led Strategic LIEF Expressions of Interest
The call for EOI for ECU Led Strategic LIEF EOI’s commences today. The relevant EOI form is attached to this email.
EOI’s should be completed and provided to myself (c.be...@ecu.edu.au) by close of business 19th December, 2014.
The Directors of Research from participating organisations will be meeting in January 2015 to identify agreed strategic bids and will provide advice to successful EOI’s in late January 2015. Bids confirmed as strategic will receive strong financial support from participating institutions.
Please note that the strategic bid process aims to identify a number of ARC LIEF proposals that will meet the emerging infrastructure needs of Western Australia and that will leverage further Federal and State investment in research within the State. Your thoughts on the infrastructure you would like to see addressed by these strategic proposals, the relationships that exist that would make them strategic for the State, together with the potential leverage of funds that you would anticipate as a result of the infrastructure becoming available, should be submitted by way of EOI response.
