CreateBaltimoreans,
I've come away from CreateBaltimore extremely excited about many aspects of the work, the vision and the people but I just wanted here to toss out a last-minute invitation to an event my organization is co-sponsoring that is very much in the spirit of CB.
The Northeast Schools Alliance is a partnership of a neighborhood community development corp (NOGLI, my shop) and three high-performing northeast Baltimore Schools: Hamilton E/M, City Neighbors and St. Francis of Assisi (imagine: a zoned public, a charter, and a parochial working together for mutual and neighborhood improvement!). A parent sponsor, the Goldseker Foundation, supported the talk earlier this week by Chicago educator Jacqueline Edelberg, who also appeared on Rodricks.
In any event, tomorrow, at City Neighbors pretty amazing campus on Sefton Ave in Hamilton, City Neighbors and NeSA are presenting the Progressive Education Summit, keynoted by Ron Berger of Outward Bound and also featuring Andreas Alonso. It's free but only ELEVEN tickets remain so scrap those backdeck ice-melting plans for tomorrow and come on over.
Speaker details are here, as well as a registration link to the EventBrite page for tickets:
Cheers,
Mark
