Vestidos para bailar – Dressed to Dance is a unique, live runway show
and simultaneous dance performance showcasing a selection of historic
and modern avant-garde Spanish dance costumes. Nineteen dancers take
to the Corcoran’s Atrium to perform in costumes created by Pablo
Picasso, Salvador Dali, and some of the most innovative contemporary
Spanish fashion designers.
Choreographed by Carlos Chamorro and produced by Margaret Jova, the
show brings to life a selection of dance dresses designed by Picasso
and Dali, praised in their age for their impact, daring, and beauty,
as well as the work of current Spanish fashion designers.
This celebration of Spanish art and culture is next Monday, February 8
at 7:00 PM. Dressed to Dance is brought to you by the Regional
Government of Madrid and is part of the program Preview Spain: Arts
and Culture ’10.
