Hello everyone,

My name is Glenn Whitcomb, and I fly out of Richland with Tri Pacer 2641A. After a bit of friendly persuasion, I've agreed to assist Phil in helping keep things running smoothly with the CRC Shortwing group. I was fortunate to meet several of you at the national event in Madras this past June.

Recently, I’ve been in touch with WAAAM, as they’ve asked for my help with aircraft marshalling. Phil has traditionally been able to secure a prime parking and camping spot in front of the Museum founder's home. Since I’ve been in contact with the person responsible for parking, I requested that we get the same prime SWPC spot this year. However, we need to know how many people will be attending and whether you'll be camping. If you're a "maybe," please let us know so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you all there!

Hi Glenn, this is Glen!
Thank you for stepping up to help with the CRC operations, it's really appreciated.
I will be bringing my Tri-Pacer N2714P to WAAAM and would like to park on the grass area Phil described, south of the founder's residence.
I believe Kelly McArthur (my hangar mate at KHIO) will bring his Tri-Pacer N3238Z as well.
Possibly our friends the Nelsons in their Cub, I will confirm with them.
Looking forward to seeing you at WAAAM!

Best,
Glen

And I have asked our local HIO Shortwing crew if they are going to attend, waiting for replies.
Thanks,
Glen

Hi Glenn,
You previously mentioned you were in contact with fly-in bosses about parking/camping, any updates to share?
Looks like 3~4 Shortwings, as before we would like to park on the west grass area, just south of the founder's residence. We can hang the CRC Shortwing banner under one of the planes. I'm planning on arriving sometime Friday but don't have a solid time yet.
Let me know I need to contact the fly-in folks.

Thanks,
Glen

Hi Glenn,

There is a reasonable chance that I’ll be able to make it down with my PA20 N7429K.  It will depend on some personal scheduling issues that I won’t be certain on until tomorrow night.  I’ll try to let you know via email or text, but if I came, it would be early Saturday (before 9AM) and leaving late afternoon.

Great meeting you last June at the Madras convention..

Bruce, Look us up where the Shortening Piper Club overnight planes are parked.  Unfortunately they don't park the day visiting planes there because of the general public milling around Saturday..

What part of the airport should I look for y’all?
I printed out the fly in instructions, I will study them before I go. The instructions say you can ask for special parking for clubs.

Also , what is the suggestion for tiedowns? Grass, paved, Walmart?

Thanks! I’m excited to finally participate in something!

We. should be parked behind the founder's home. (The only home next to the museum hangars.)
Tie downs?  Parking is on grass so whatever gear you have for dirt.

Here's a Pic from Google, I have added ABC for another discussion so don't use those when you talk the ground.
The area marked A is the west grass area near the founder's residence (house just above the A)
When you exit the runway, contact ground and "I'm with the Shortwing Club, request parking on the grass on the west end, south of the founders residence."

I have the white/blue Tri-Pacer.
